Just having this game available again makes it a 10 in terms of recommendation to anyone who felt like they missed out the first time. [Issue #51 – March/April 2021, p. 22]
Scott, his girlfriend Ramona Flowers, his drummer and ex Kim, and lead singer Stephen Stills are back in all their retro brawler glory, and really, it’s like Ubisoft barely touched the old game. They didn’t need to.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game was a Beat'em Up classic in 2010, and the Beat'em Up hasn't aged a bit over the past decade. The Complete Edition is generous in content, inspires fans of the genre to outdo themselves in a full-bodied experience, and remains punchy with its extremely well-thought-out combat system.
If you're a fan of the character or of beat 'em ups and pop culture in general who didn't have a chance to try this title, this is your second chance, and one that must not be wasted.
Overall, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition is a difficult, grindy play that ends up being ultimately enjoyable thanks to its combat and style. Fans of the source material have no doubt already bought it and are enjoying the hell out of it, and anyone else who enjoys a good old-fashioned brawler with plenty of style should check it out as well.
Scott Pilgrim doesn’t have the same attention-grabbing appeal to the modern blockbusters and with many people still fresh to the winter’s big titles thanks to getting them as Christmas pressies I worry that the early January release may fall flat. However for those looking to revisit this game, people with fond memories of a cult classic, they’ll find it a joy still to play and well worth a look. It plays brilliantly, has a really tough challenge to the gameplay and still inhabits all that charm and uniqueness you remember.
Fun to have a great beat em up on Switch. Elements like stores are still hard to navigate and know what you'll be purchasing, which is frustrating. This version is just a remake of the previous games, so original game is at fault.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition is a chaotic but still fun beat'em'up. Items and pick-up objects make the game very frustrating in some cases, but can be bypassed if you pay attention. The sound and the graphics harmonize wonderfully and together create a very unique style, which one looks for in vain these days. Local multiplayer is almost a must for games of this kind and is happy to provide one or the other fun evening with the buddies. Only Ubisoft is holding back this game. The forced registration of a Ubisoft account as well as the holding back of the DLC and the online mode is really disgusting. And after all that, the online mode doesn't even work properly. We can really only hope for a patch that will be released this time.
Wow !!! Great game, I was waiting for the pre-launch of the game and for good reason. A huge plus of the game is that it is difficult, it is all filled with funny and funny gags, + the game is made in comic book stealth, this is another big + game. To the creator of the comic book Brian Lee O'Malley HELLO AND MANY THANKS FOR YOUR CREATIVITY.
