Alien Isolation provides an utmost emotionally pulling experience, and runs flawlessly on the Nintendo Switch. The game truly is a testament to what can be done by third-party developers and porting studios.

Feral Interactive has ported Alien: Isolation to Switch with no cut corners. Simply put, this game is a timeless horror masterpiece that ratchets up the dread and doesn't let up, and it looks and plays amazingly on Switch. Don't pass it up.

Alien Isolation isn’t just a fantastic game, it’s also a fantastic port, a must-buy for owners of the console, even if you’ve played the game previously.

The game’s ability to capture a strong dose of the original Alien film’s atmosphere helps create a wonderfully immersive experience. As long as you understand that this is a survival game where brute force will simply lead to a quick death, it’s highly recommended.

A harrowing, claustrophobic, hair-raising adventure that leaves no stones unturned when it comes to its gameplay, visual environment, sound and plot. Alien: Isolation is an essential title for all the Nintendo Switch owners, and a doubly essential game for those looking for a proper horror experience.

Few horror games offer the quality of Alien: Isolation. This fact, together with its great atmosphere and sound, allows us to enjoy a great game, one of the best exponents of the genre. A totally essential game that no player should miss.

This release is an indispensable addition to any Switch fan's collection of masterpieces, only really let-down by the absence of any plans for a physical release, at least at the time of writing.

Alien: Isolation is a survival horror masterpiece and straight-up one of the very best horror video games ever released. It's a nerve-wracking affair – a slow, methodical game of cat and mouse against a brilliantly clever recreation of one of cinema's most infamous killers – but if you're up to the task you'll find one of the most satisfying gameplay experiences in the genre; a brilliant and beautiful homage to one of the greatest Sci-Fi movies of all time. Feral Interactive has done a stellar job with this Switch port and the excellent motion controls and inclusion of all previously-released DLC only go to sweeten the deal. This is essential stuff for survival horror fans.

One of the best ports we've seen for the Nintendo Switch. One of the best horror games of the last decade. Admire the purity of the perfect organism: do yourself a favor and play Alien: Isolation.

For those who have never had the opportunity to explore the terrifying meanders of Sevastopol, the Nintendo Switch version of Alien Isolation is the best way to remedy a serious gap.

Alien: Isolation is close to a survival horror masterpiece that, while unforgiving, carries itself with an unbridled sense of style and class. It authentically recreates the look and feel of the original 1979 film while still feeling incredibly rewarding. Through some wizardry, the game plays just as well, if not better, on Switch, and is to be commended as one of the best ports the platform has ever seen.

It's by no means a perfect game, but it excels at almost everything it sets out to do. It has an incredibly detailed and faithful presentation and is a unique attempt to capture the essence of the franchise in an interactive experience. If you're a fan of horror and haven't played Isolation yet, this is still one of the more interesting and tense horror games out there. Even if you have already played it, this is the best way to jump back into a game that has aged incredibly well, both visually and in terms of gameplay mechanics.

Alien: Isolation on the Switch is fantastic, and is most definitely a game that deserves a spot on your shelf. Even five years later, Isolation continues to be a horror tour-de-force that will have you wishing you could play something rated ‘E’ for everyone instead. Bring a pair of headphones and do your best to get over that input lag, and you’ll find yourself in the midst of the best port this console has seen to date. You may also want to bring a portable charger as this thing is an absolute battery killer, but hey, when you look this good and feel this good, I don’t mind.

Feral Interactive delivers a technically excellent Switch-port. But like in the original the artificially stretched campaign is filled not only with tension and panic moments but sometimes with outright frustration.

Alien Isolation is an essential horror game, and the Nintendo Switch version might even be the very best place to play it, as long as you can ignore the caveats mentioned above. With excellent picture and audio quality, thick atmosphere, and a beautiful aesthetic, it is one of the most interesting licensed games ever released, and a great stealth horror title to enjoy.

Alien: Isolation is a worthy edition to any Switch owner’s library. It is an excellent reminder of just how good a port can be and, predictable storyline and poorly paced checkpoints aside, it is an outstanding stealth-horror title.

Alien: Isolation still is a fantastic horror game, and this version is just as good as it can get. It’s probably the best adaptation to Switch so far, and as good as any other to discover this adventure.

Alien: Isolation lands on Nintendo Switch with an experience that is able to stand the test of time and offer a journey that keeps faithful to the original one. The port of Feral Interactive still generates constant tension and fear and demonstrates that quality games inspired by the original film saga can also be made.

Alien: Isolation is a good Alien game. While it overstays its welcome, Creative Assembly really did their best to ground a tense survival game in the Alien universe. Honestly, for all the games flaws, it manages to capture the essence of the movies better than the sequels and prequels have managed past Aliens. Feral has done an outstanding job bringing Isolation onto the Switch and have it run without issues while still looking great. For fans of the Alien franchise, you’re not going to get any better than this It’s not perfect, but neither are the movies. If you want the crap scared out of you over an extended period of time, check out Alien: Isolation.

A masterclass in terms of cinematic adaptation and slow burn survival horror, but the overly long running time and lack of compelling storytelling prevents it from being a classic.

If you enjoy both portable gaming and horror, there is no better option right now. Playing with headphones is a must to feel the eerie atmosphere. Preferably the surroundings should also be dim. Just don't forget that you are still on earth, where everybody can hear you scream.

Alien: Isolation may be the very best Switch port I've played in terms of accuracy and performance. It looks amazing, it runs smoothly, and in several departments it outclasses the PS4 version...On top of that, Alien: Isolation is just an amazing game that's still absolutely terrifying.

I've already platinumed this on both PC and PS4, and after seeing how good this looked on Switch several weeks ago, I went ahead on my first triple-dipped game ever. I'm a few hours in now, just past the first real encounter with the Alien, and I am impressed. The game runs very smoothly, and looks...remarkable. This is due to Feral's smart implementation of Temporal Anti-aliasing, which the game's original devs, Creative Assembly, opted to forgo. This essentially eliminates the unsightly pixel shimmer that plagued all previous versions of the game, even the mighty PC version(without the Alias Isolation mod) didn't look this pretty. If you own a Switch, do yourself a favor and get this game. It's a great value in that it comes with all the DLC already unlocked, and a great showcase for what the Switch is capable of. A game that dared to go outside the boilerplate FPS formula and try something new, and it succeeded. In this game, you don't kill the alien, you survive it. At no point are you able to feel comfortable in this game. Every level and every moment is tense and full of surprises. No other game in this genre has the depth and vision of this title. Resident Evil 2 remake comes close, but even that game copied this game in some respects. Which is fine, because the bar was set high by it.

Yes, the game is long. Maybe too long, but c'mon, are we really going to criticize getting too much of a good thing? Some critics make this an issue, but let's get over that. It's a ton of game time for the price.

It is far and away, easily the best stealth horror game ever made and in my top 10 games of all time going back to the 1980's. Superb........the reason I love gaming. Buy this game!!! Full Review »
