Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed.

Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey.

The Survivors' goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer - something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.

    Key Features:

    * Survive Together Or Not - Survivors can either cooperate with the others or be selfish. Your chance of survival will vary depending on whether you work together as a team or if you go at it alone. Will you be able to outwit the Killer and escape their Killing Ground?

    * Where Am I? - Each level is procedurally generated, so youll never know what to expect. Random spawn points mean you will never feel safe as the world and its danger change every time you play.

    * A Feast for Killers - Dead by Daylight draws from all corners of the horror world. As a Killer you can play as anything from a powerful Slasher to terrifying paranormal entities. Familiarize yourself with your Killing Grounds and master each Killers unique power to be able to hunt, catch and sacrifice your victims.

    * Deeper and Deeper - Each Killer and Survivor has their own deep progression system and plenty of unlockables that can be customized to fit your own personal strategy. Experience, skills and understanding of the environment are key to being able to hunt or outwit the Killer.

    * Real People, Real Fear - The procedural levels and real human reactions to pure horror makes each game session an unexpected scenario. You will never be able to tell how its going to turn out. Ambience, music, and chilling environments combine into a terrifying experience. With enough time, you might even discover whats hiding in the fog.

Dead by Daylight makes the transition to Switch adequately, retaining all the asymmetrical horror goodness it’s known for, albeit looking a little worse for wear. The higher price is off-putting, but the flexibility of handheld play certainly helps.

Dead for Daylight for the Switch does the bare minimum you'd expect from a competent Switch port, but performance issues make the asking price hard to swallow.

The asymmetric player is really well recreated in this title, which gives us an extraordinary experience of the slasher genre. However, its graphics are not up to this really entertaining and addictive game.

It’s a straightforward and repetitive online affair that, if you're lucky enough to be matched with the right bunch of randoms or happen to be playing a custom match with friends, can deliver the goods in terms of frights and tension from time to time. However, it has also always been a pretty clunky affair, a fact which is amplified further here by the noticeable graphical downgrade, laggy menus and the exclusion of a bunch of DLC that we really feel should have been included for the steep asking price. Still, if you're a fan who wants a portable version to play on the go, this should satisfy your needs as long as you're happy to grind yourself back to where you were at and fork out for your favourite killers. For everyone else, this is the least impressive version of the game available to buy at its highest price.

This porting of Dead by Daylight is fun and scary as always. Sadly, compared to counterparties isn't the best version out there: the downgrade is too big to be ignored, with framerate drops and some minor glitches.

Dead by Daylight is a bit like those horror films from the 80s of the B, C, or maybe Z series: there is no shortage of flaws and they are obvious, yet its undoubted charm and some excellent results have allowed it to break through the heart of many fans, despite everything.

I’m sad to admit it, but Dead by Daylight on Nintendo Switch is a huge let-down. I love the game, and while I was excited to get to play it on a handheld format, its lagginess, framerate issues and massive graphical downgrade mean that I just can’t recommend it on Switch. If you’re still tempted to give it a try, perhaps wait a month or two and see if any patches come out to fix some of the current painful and glaring issues. Until then, the price simply isn’t worth what you get. Stick to playing it on another format; trust me, you’ll have a much better experience.

This port is honestly pretty good. The graphics are a little bit blurry, but it never really impacts the gameplay in any negative way. In addition, the performance is pretty solid from the hundreds of hours I've played through. I've heard about a lot of lagging and crashing issues on the Playstation version, but I haven't experienced that at all on Switch really. So, all things considered, I think the developers did a good job getting this game running on Switch and I commend them for that. There's a lot of survivors and killers included in this version, and honestly, a lot of the best survivors are the ones included, so if you don't want to make any purchases, you don't really have to. There's a lot of different maps so the gameplay experience never gets stale, and getting different perks and facing off against different killers/survivors is consistently engaging and fun. The sounds and music really add to the scary essence of the game, because they're subtle but can be very chilling. My one complaint with this version of the game would be the brightness. If you play in "Docked" mode, it's not really an issue, but in "Handheld" mode, some of the maps, especially the indoor ones, can be very hard to see in. I recommend you turn the brightness on your Switch all the way up if you're going to play in "Handheld" mode mainly. This game is especially fun if you have friends to play with, because if you're playing as a survivor, random teammates from online can sometimes be selfish and leave you to die on the hook. Luckily though, crossplay has been added since launch, so the queue times usually aren't bad, and you can quickly get into new matches if you lose one. If you want to play as a killer though, it doesn't really matter if you have friends on, though you can play "Custom" matches with your in-game friends, where one of you can play as killer, which is a fun little side mode. If you're looking for a great multiplayer horror game, this is an amazing option that I'd highly recommend. Expand

Ive played on pc, ps4, and xbox and the switch version is just inferior in every way. The frames are bad and the connection to servers do not help the gameplay. In addition, the players who choose to play as the killer just stay in the vicinity of the player on the hook because a lot of them are new to the game. If you are DYING to play this game and do not have a pc or ps4 or xbox, then have fun. But realize that it is the worst way to play the game and the MOST expensive ($40). Ps4 and pc is around $20 and xbox is around $25. Sure with the switch version you get some extra dlc's for the price but still expensive for a game that was released 4 years ago. In my personal opinion, I give this game a 5 out of 10 because I love the Dev team, the gameplay is great and exciting, but this port of the game is a waste of money at this point because of graphics, framerates, and connection to servers. Also the price =/ Expand

I took a video and was lucky enough to capture all the errors I get in a matter of 2 minutes and 30 seconds and I’m going to post them everywhere I can go. You claimed you patched the problem where we don’t have to exit the game and restart it when it “loses connection to host” yeah sure it doesn’t freeze anymore but unless I close out the game I will constantly get errors and it won’t connect me to a game so the only thing you patched was it doesn’t freeze Expand
