At this point in time, Super Beat Sports is definitely one of the best multiplayer experiences available for Switch. Whether you enjoy competing or cooperating with friends, there's enough rhythm-based fun here to liven up your next party.
I have 48 games on my Switch and this is the game I enjoy the most.
Don't get me wrong I really like some games such as Mario Odyssey but Super Beat Sports is a very unique and enjoyable game to relax when I have anxiety or stress. it makes me smile every time I play it and the price is fair compared to all these overpriced games.
Most levels are easy but there is a "Pro" mode for hardcore gamers.
The multiplayer is fantastic... every one I played with just wants to keep playing and they all smile in the meanwhile... isn't that what Switch is made for? :)
We really need more games like this in Switch!
Super Beat Sports, without a doubt, defeats all the other rhythm games on the Nintendo Switch. Originally released exclusively for the Apple TV in 2015 as just Beat Sports, Super Beat Sports is bigger, better, and cooler than its ever been. There are three campaign modes and two multiplayer modes, and all of them feel great to play, even those weak in design. The reason for this is because Super Beat Sports steps out of the boundary of just being a rhythm game, and chooses to experiment with the formula in the best way possible. Every environment and music track adheres to the child-like whimsicality of the game, and the seamless combination of rhythm and drawing from memory gives it the strong punch that keeps rhythm-game players striving for perfection.
Those who want their rhythm games to have a high level of challenge, a memorable soundtrack, and more variety in terms of gameplay, stay away from Super Beat Sports. Those who are content with something that's (relatively) cheap, casual-friendly, extremely cute, and fun despite a lack of depth, try out the demo, and if you like what you see (and hear), by all means, feel free to throw your money at it.
Super Beat Sports casts the player into a world ruled over by inhuman alien lifeforms, obsessed with physical, brutal gladiatorial events under the oppressive droning of a harsh synthetic rhythm, without any explanation of why or how things have come to be this way. Aside from all that though, actually it's really rather cute, the games are fun for newcomers or veterans alike, and the local multiplayer options are top-notch. While score-chasers will find plenty of medals to earn for perfect performances, casual play will end up being pretty repetitious, especially with the lengthy load times. Because of this, even though it's broken up into bite-sized chunks it isn't always an ideal single player experience. We'd still recommend it however, especially at a budget price, so if you're looking for a fun party game to try out then assemble your crew and go whack some spaceballs!
It’s definitely fun in short bursts, and is perfectly suited to the Switch with its casual, light-hearted multiplayer. That said, it’s just not especially engaging or memorable. As far as rhythm games go, this one going to be a bit like Marmite. As a rhythm game. it’s not nearly as quirky or interesting as something like Rhythm Heaven - and as a sports game, it can’t top Wii Sports. As a combination of both, it’s unique - but the sum isn’t as good as its parts.
I want to stress that Super Beat Sports isn't a bad game. It's well crafted, and it's nice to take a few minutes to play a song before going off and doing something entirely different. Rhythm game diehards can sink a lot of time into going for perfect (or near perfect, which is all the platinum medals require) on all of the different songs. But this isn't the mainstream must-play like Harmonix has had in its history. Heck, it isn't even a must-play for people who like quirky little rhythm games, because others have done it better in the past.
I haven't played many rhythm games but after playing the demo I was totally sold. I love the music and the sometimes literal curve-balls the game keeps throwing at you. It's a great game for the price considering I have more hours on this than Super Mario Odyssey. Abstract humor, solid, original art style and delicate difficulty curve is what will keep me playing this.
This game is simplistic yet fantastic. It reminds me of a mashup between Wii Sports and Rhythm Heaven. The catchy fun music so the cartoony graphic style, this game just screams entertaining. The different modes all bring something new and its a blast to play alone or with friends. I just cant get enough of this game, character customization and a huge selection of music are also present. Great solid rhythm game
Bright, beautiful visuals, amazing music and the exceptional rhythm-action you'd expect from a Harmonix title. Super Beat Sports is an absolute blast to play with friends, and there's tons of content to keep you coming back.
Definitely worth a look at this price.
