This remaster is a great refinement of the already excellent original, The Last of Us Part II. Newcomers should not miss out on experiencing one of the best games released. Additionally, there is enough extra content to warrant a return for those who have already played it.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is the best way to play one of the best games ever made. Excellent bonus content and visual bells and whistles make this $10 more than worth it, and the exact excuse you need to revisit this modern masterpiece.
A lot of Sony games are cool, great or even masterpieces of the gaming industry. But The Last Of Us: Part II is not just a great game or a masterpiece - it's more than that, it's a masterpiece among masterpieces! Everyone should try the game: the best gameplay, the best mechanics, flawless graphics, the best stealth, game intelligence, music and so on (I apologise to all the developers who are not mentioned here - every area of the game is a masterpiece). The game, complementing the first part of the series raises the most complex life issues, asks its player-viewer to assess the situation objectively, does not give an unambiguous assessment of this or that moment. The motivation of a particular action is always much deeper than the than it might seem at first glance. Thank you Naughty Dog - that I was lucky enough to touch your brainchild - after 2 years and having played the game more than 5 times - I am still experiencing emotions of different spectrums from the passage and reasoning over the plot twists! Thank you for creating an ideal that set the bar in the gaming industry for years to come!
If we evaluate the direct Remaster of the game - then certainly the changes themselves are not so much - the new mode that was added has no storyline and can be completed in a couple of evenings, but it is at the same time ready to give me the joy of returning to the gameplay of this historical game! Thank you
Regardless of if you’re experiencing the story for the first time, or returning for the $10 upgrade, this is the definitive version of one of the finest video games ever made. It’s worth playing for the story alone, but the No Return mode is an intense and fun addition that might keep you around longer than you expect.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is a more fully-featured and overall superior version of an already-incredible game. No Return makes it worth the $10 upgrade by itself, and the game is an absolute must-buy for anyone who has never played the PS4 original. The Lost Levels are a bit of a letdown and the graphics haven't gotten as much of an upgrade as some may have hoped, but this is still the definitive way to experience Naughty Dog's masterpiece.
The remastered version of The Last of Us Part II for PlayStation 5
boasts significant graphical enhancements and improved performance,
featuring a compelling and challenging Roguelike mode and additional
content for enthusiasts. It is definitely worth trying, because it
stands out as an even better package. It's the ultimate edition of one
of the best games ever made for PlayStation.
Do I think The Last of Us 2 Remastered is worth it? Absolutely. At $10, it’s a no-brainer if you want to revisit TLoU2 on PlayStation 5. No Return is the most fun I've had with the game's stealth-action mechanics yet, and the DualSense haptics add depth to gameplay and cutscenes, putting tension on bow strings and adding physical context to dialogue through vibrations. If you’ve never played TLoU2 but have been waiting for the best version of it, this is it, despite the frame drop issues and the limited Making Of content. No Return is worth the price of admission alone.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered is not a remaster at all. At best it has some new features that should have been free. No Return roguelike game mode is lackluster and there is no point in playing it. TLOU combat was complementing the story, and it did so very well – unlike No Return which is basically hide and seek with extra steps. For a layman, the graphic improvements are unnoticeable, especially if you haven’t played it in a while, and there are a bunch of new bugs that were previously absent (falling through the ground, missing limbs on character models, etc). The lost chapters are neat to get some dev insight, but are almost unplayable, as they are mostly alpha. This should have been a free DLC for the fans and not a quick money grab. Naughty Dog, take a note from Santa Monica Studios.
Same old story with upgraded graphics, but truth to be told you wont see much of a difference anyway. Did not try the new mode yet but have seen gameplay of it.
It's the last of us part 2 all right. The remaster is worth it if you're a big Last of Us fan or a big rouge-like fan. The grounded mode is pretty fun and I can see myself spending hours playing it. The documentary that comes in the remaster is really incredible to watch. The enhanced graphics are kind of just the same graphics, I can honestly barely tell. Like yeah it looks beautiful but the original game looked beautiful too soooo...
I love The Last Of Us but can not justify giving this a higher score due to the fact that in the story my progress has been blocked by a glitch Where Joel and Tommy have just frozen in place. The only redeeming factor of this remaster is No Return but gets stale once all of the character challenges have been completed. I will write my final thoughts on the game once the glitch has been sorted.
