Voidtrain has potential, but currently it falls short. It has systems similar to Raft, and collecting resources can be enjoyable. However, it doesn't offer enough survival challenges, nor does it have a deep construction system. The game prioritizes shooting, but the limited FPS experience restricts the final game, making it difficult for players to feel the tension and excitement of combat.
В начале игры идет хорошая затравка. Но в определенный момент натыкаешься на гриндволл, для преодоления которого используешь дюп. Инвентарь и сундуки с малой вместимостью для растягивания и не удобства игрового процесса. Стрельба отвратительна.
I expected more from this game, promising trailer and unique gameplay but in this state boring and a real grind ! There is no real advanced gameplay present.
Really boring, this game is like raft. Everything you do is collecting loot, to build something, to collect more loot. It could be interesting, but game requires too much loot to collect, despite it`s very rare.
played this when it came out in 2021 in early access and replayed recently and not much has changed very much grindy as hell and weapon parts are an entire other pain in this game as they try to make a looter shooter grinding system for rarity of drops which only gives marginal buffs in damage and such. IF you want to mindless grind mats and building your train sure it will be fun for a while but still doesn;t feel like it has an end game and progression feels awful in this game. I really wanted to like this game but I understand not everyone wants a grindy game with very little **** "random" events that happen alsoget very repetitive as there are not many of them its enemy train, mines, mines v2, random debree, a grindy shooter arena for loot andacid glands you need which is a joke, puzzles for loot which are also super easy. NOT TO MENTION they moved the way to open those loot boxes you get like a 3-4 min walk from your train to there just to make you fight enemy's before getting to it but Jesus that is just so stupid to have it so far away from the train. , other random events will just be a check point or such with enemies to stop your train and shoot at you unless you spend materials on a ram to smash through and just go on your way.
The game is an endless grind of gathering scraps in space.
Every aspect of the game is tedious and after 3-4 hours I couldn't feel any progress anymore. Everything in this game is either boring to do, gathering, combat, inventory, research system or even just crafting things.
I literally made this account just so I could spread the word on how offensively boring this game is. Might as well start with the good because it's a short list.
Pros:
-Cool concept, if not unoriginal, it's basically the game Raft on a train going through the void
-Great visuals
-Sound and music is good with pretty cool voice acting
Cons:
-The grind, jesus ***** ****** ******* ******************* ***** the ********* ********* ****** grind. I have been playing for 3 hours, I've jumped off the stupid train cart 100 times, grabbed 500 pieces of floating debree, smelted 70+ ingots, gone through 6 tiers of tech trees, do you want to know what I've been unlocking? MORE COMPONENTS TO CRAFT. The only things you unlock are more things to smelt or craft but none of it is equipment or anything remotely standing close to fun. You unlock bolts, gears, springs, acids, YOU DO NOTHING WITH ANY OF THIS BESIDES CRAFT MORE COMPONENTS. You unlock food and health, GREAT, nothing has damaged my health though so WHATS THE POINT. Finally, after 3 hours I unlock a stupid grappling hook that doesn't even grapple onto the environment, Oh no, you have to then craft these asinine rings that you then throw to grapple onto. But guess what, they cost ore to craft and their throwing mechanics are horrible so you end up wasting half of them.
This game had such amazing potential and then did nothing with it for the first 5 hours of gameplay. Listen, I've seen the videos, I'm sure if I grind for 10 more hours I'll get to the giant fish and pirate fights, but at this point, I've lost all interest in ever turning this game on again.
In case the devs actually see this (because I'll be d***** if I can find a way to contact them besides twiter) here are some actual tips.
-Just start with the grapple for gods sake. Don't make your players grind for 2+ hours before even getting one piece of moderately fun equipment
-Don't make us need rings. It just adds more grind to the UNGODLY amount of already exsisting grind. Nothing brings fun gameplay to a screeching halt like having to search for 10 minutes for scraps to continue exploring
-Within 2 tech trees, give the players some kind of magnetic grabber or something to reach things easier. Chasing things down is fun but after 2 hours it's incredibly f****** boring.
-Make resources more abundant of make recipes cheaper. I get there are docks or whatever, nobody cares, instead of 1 metal scrap floating by itself, put 3. I know you might feel the need to pad game time but this is ruining your game.
-YOU HAVE TOO MANY COMPONENTS. Buds there are like 5 things to craft in early game (all of which are storage or crafting tables) and yet there are like 15 components. If you want Factorio, create more automation.
SummaryA fresh take on the survival genre - you control and upgrade your own train in an endless adventure full of surprises and dangers.
