  1. As much as I fell in love with this game, it isn't going to please everyone. It is short, easy and can be difficult to follow if you aren't familiar with the story already. It also sports a dated design, and I can't see anyone but the superfans forgoing all the other amazing games out right now to play this one.
  2. The combination of classic game genres make for a title that is balanced, engaging, and loyal to the franchise. Once more, if you are a fan, don't hesitate to try this one out.
  3. The game is a nice action/adventure, with an interesting combat system. But when it comes to the beat'em up section, it lacks depth and the fun disappears.
  4. There isn’t anything overly new or innovative in Revenge of Piccolo. It’s just a very straightforward brawler that will appeal to younger fans of the Dragonball franchise.

It's a shame that Revenge of King Piccolo becomes essentially a mediocre fighting game in the latter part of the adventure. [Dec 2009, p.88]
  6. While I think the idea behind a 3D brawler in the Dragon Ball universe is a decent idea, I can't see the point in a game that only allows you to fight as Goku, and keeps up the overall length that this game does. It does try to offer some replay value, but not having additional characters to check out outside of the Tournament mode is a waste, and not what I was hoping for with this game.

Can we have it this simple, but a bit bigger? [Dec 2009, p.87]

The gameplay isn't quite up to par with the graphics. It is however one of the most true to the anime/manga games of Dragonball out there. TheThe gameplay isn't quite up to par with the graphics. It is however one of the most true to the anime/manga games of Dragonball out there. The multi-player is pretty poor, but that is clearly NOT what this game is about. Most of the levels in the single player are pretty good, some however do drag on a bit, slowing the pace of the game. I'd recommend it to anyone who's a fan of the series, not anyone else though. As fans could let some bad level design slide for the great cut scenes scattered throughout the game. Slight shortness and occasional suckiness drag the game down however. Expand
