Word Forward is a good palette cleanser between games or when you are looking for a brain teaser. You most likely won’t be playing it for several hours in a row (although with the number of puzzles, you certainly can). The puzzles are short, and unlike other word puzzles out on the Switch, it doesn’t incorporate any story or gimmicks. Instead, it’s a straightforward puzzle game that will provide you with plenty of challenges.
In other words (pun not intended), Word Forward is kind of lousy if you’re in the mood for a straight-up word game, but probably amazing if it’s a challenging puzzle game you’re after. It’s built around a concept that’s really easy to grasp but ridiculously hard to master, and if you want something you can sink dozens of hours into (or even just a couple of minutes at a time, many, many times), this is what you’re looking for.
Word Forward is a fantastic word strategy game, and one that absolutely belongs in any word nerd’s library. It’s perfect for that on the go gameplay for when you want to sneak in a few minutes of playtime here and there. If you love word games and you want something with a bit more brain tickling than most, Word Forward is G-R-E-A-T!

Summary Word Forward isn’t about spelling the longest words or the most clever. It’s about using chess-like strategy to clear every tile and declare victory in 500 puzzles. It requires cunning and strategy - Word Forward is a brain teaser that will really make you think.
