Beyond the licensing, WWE Legends of WrestleMania is a smartly-designed game that enables studio antics to be more approachable to the common gamer. The gameplay isn’t dumbed down to the point where hardcore wrestling fans will scoff at Legends either.
-
WWE Legends of Wrestling is the one game all old school "WWF" fans should pick up. No other wrestling title has come close to matching the same level of nostalgia that Legends conveys in its close attention to detail and Wrestlemania Tour mode.
-
With a ton of unlockables and dozens of classic wrestlers from the glory days of the World Wrestling Federation, Legends of WrestleMania is a fan's dream come true.
-
THQ successfully manages to bring us a wrestling game aimed at the nostalgic, long-time fans, that will be able to relive some of the greatest moments of WWE from the ’80s and ’90s. The simplified gameplay makes it more approachable to every kind of gamer, but the hardcore ones could dislike its lack of difficulty, even at the higher levels.
-
It's a real shame that Legends of WrestleMania turns out to be such a slight affair as otherwise it's quite possibly the best wrestling game that developer Yuke's has made in a long time. The control system is a genuine improvement over previous efforts and the strong roster of legends is highly appealing. Had Yuke's fleshed out the WrestleMania Tour portion of the game into a fully-fledged story mode, this could have been something pretty special. As it stands however, Legends simply feels like an incomplete experience, which is a real shame and a major missed opportunity.
-
Still, I'm not really in love with the actual game, and after finishing everything (the achievements/trophies are really easy to get by the way), I find myself more interested in the concept than the actual execution.
-
Unfortunately, the simplicity went a notch too far, and instead of a fun, arcade-like romp through memories of wrestling yesteryear, we're left with a wrestling game that has the best roster in 10 years, but some of the least challenging and least fun gameplay.

Dec 25, 2020Not as bad as most people make it out to be. It has one of the best rosters on any wrestling game ever. Gameplay is solid.
