Control marks a new and glorious beginning for Remedy and hopefully there are more wonderful things to come. Despite a few pacing issues here and there and some exhausting late-game shoot-outs, I gladly award the game a perfect score. Am I biased doing so as a Finn myself? Maybe, but Control is a game that today's dull, unimaginative and opportunistic gaming climate doesn't deserve, but I’m happy it exists.

Control is truly unforgettable with loads of ways to play, terrific acting, lots to explore, satisfying gunplay and abilities, and a spectacular world and story to experience. I can't wait to dive back in with the couple of DLC packs already planned.

It will not have the impact Alan Wake had in his day, but Control may be Remedy's best game in recent years. It shows the effort of the team to improve the great weakness that had been dragging in their games, the gameplay itself. Storytelling and the graphics are really amazing.

Control is another absolute hit from Remedy, one that delivers from both a gameplay and narrative perspective. One of the generation’s most intriguing game worlds and almost perfect pacing, the only thing that holds Control back from being an all-time classic is its unfortunate and frustrating technical issues.

Control is definitely Remedy's best game since Alan Wake. The sheer variety in the gameplay and fantastic presentation go a long way in making this an enjoyable experience.

Control is a mysterious, exciting and intense action game that lets you hurl office equipment at twisted enemies while gliding through the air like the harbinger of death.

This game is not as good as perhaps expected. Level design is poor, the main character is not very interesting and the Metroidvania-way of exploring is maybe too difficult. However, the game gets a bit better in the end.

Что сказать, игру я полностью не прошел в силу обстоятельств, но часов 5 наиграл и это было очень хорошо. К тому же хороших коридорных синглов сейчас очень мало.

Control is a "Remedy" for our eyes - if we go to options and turn off movie grain and motion blur, but it's just my personal taste about this matter.

When we heard that the guys on Remedy are working in a new game, isn't too much difficult expect a good thing; was this way since Max Payne, and with this one shouldn't be different.

Even don't being THE game to please most people nowdays, it is much enjoyable with its simple but still fun mechanics full of powers, exploration and a plot filled with dark secrets, mystery, some sarcastic humor and twists - sometimes literally twists.

The OST is another point that can't pass unnoticed if you have ears. It's marvelous and, again, Remedy bring back some Poets of The Fall songs to this - one under the name of their previous know on Remedy games "Old Gods of Asgard" - to hit the big score delivering an experience that is much more than just run and gun like we can think sometimes when playing it.

I LOVED this game but I will never support a*hole companies that make money grabbing decisions like this.

Fabulous game with a great story and excellent combat. A truly gorgeous looking game too. The environment is amazing and stunningly rendered. Gameplay and combat are good too, let down only by some horribly difficult bosses and badly placed autosave points. UI could do with a bit of a spruce up as although there are many, many interesting documents in the game World, navigating through the unread ones in the menu is problematic.
Overall though, a truly amazing game and easily makes my top 5 of all time

Honestly, it pains me to write this down. I love Remedy and the games they have made over the last two decades now. I was part of the minorityHonestly, it pains me to write this down. I love Remedy and the games they have made over the last two decades now. I was part of the minority that actually enjoyed Quantum Break. Unfortunately, Control will be seating at the end of the podium for me. One thing to clear out, the game is beautiful, the light, the physics, the paranoia of wandering in the hallway of a forever changing environnement that really put you into a David Lynch nightmare. The big let down for me, the story... I have put 20+ hours in the game and I still do not CARE about what is happening or why do I do what I do. Which is one of the main reason a solo narrative game should be pushing “why should I care”. The characters are flat most of the time dull, completely oblivious about the events surrounding them, most of the time you feel like having a casual conversation with Suzan at the coffee machine behind your cubicle on a Monday morning. The only character that has a minimum of substance would be the janitor (played by Sam Lake I believe), who is colorful and mysterious enough for me to appreciate my encounter with him. But the rest is really dull and boring.

And it pains me because I know how good of a storyteller and worldbuilder Remedy can be. The gameplay is most of the time very satisfying. But the checkpoint system coming straight from the PS2 era is a grind I’m not willing to waste time on. You die, you go back, wayyy back where you started, find the room again, run, fight again and die again to then repeat.

The game doesn’t have a difficulty mode, so most of the time some levels can really, really be grinding. So dying and trying again will be a hell of a routine in this game. To note that the gun you’ll be using doesn’t have much “punch” to it. It doesn’t feel like a special weapon, the shooting moment aren’t that fun or dynamic, what save the fighting moment are the actual powers that you have and will enhance thorough the game.

Now, I understand the critical response the game had, and I truly support the people who love it. I truly believe that my gamer expectation where not satisfied. Won’t be in my top games of 2019, and won’t probably give it another try.
