FIFA 19 - 'Champions Rise' Official Launch Trailer
Oct 12, 2018FIFA 19 reaffirms the series' strengths, even if some smaller problems, like not so real-like player models and a bad commentary keep it from reaching a better score. It still holds strong thanks to very good and even more refined gameplay, new licenses like UEFA Champion's League and the Italy's Serie A, a more accessible FUT mode and a great soccer feeling overall. Definitely the game to have for soccer fans.
Sep 24, 2018While Kick-Off's party games in particular are a highlight, FIFA 19 improves upon last year's outing in almost every department. One of the best football games around, FIFA 19 delivers the most fluid and fun entry yet, and is the kick up the backside the series needed. Back of the net.
Sep 20, 2018Honestly, I love soccer. I played it obsessively in my youth. I watch it when I can. It is my favorite sport by far, so it is with a heavy heart that I would say that a better option for sports fans looking for a visceral experience that is sorta, kind of, somewhat similar to soccer might find solace in NHL 19. That, of course, doesn’t apply to people who just want to play soccer and don’t care much for other sports. That’s okay, because this is definitely a good soccer game. It’s just not as good as it could be. It should be immediately apparent, due to a lack of modes, if this game isn’t for you. For that reason, I might suggest renting the game before jumping in feet first.
Sep 23, 2018FIFA 19's headline new feature, the Champions League, adds to an already slick and fine tuned package, but it's the subtle gameplay tweaks that have made EA's latest such a big success. On the pitch FIFA offers more control than ever before, finally making for a game that isn't just about showing off to mates.
Sep 21, 2018FIFA 19 has a lot of content and features that will entertain players offline and online for hours. It still has authenticity with what is needed to let us feel we have control over a broadcasted football game. It is a better version than FIFA 18 but it is still too keen on delivering a too spectacular soccer experience at all costs.

Thing I like:
About the gameplay -
Slower everything. It won't appeal to everyone, but in recent years FIFA players looked like stickmen in the way they recieve the ball, run with the ball, and turn on the ball. PES always had the slower and more natural player movements while FIFA was robotic. It's all changed in 19 - everything is defined but it makes for a slower and at first, clunky experience. But after a week of playing the full game it feels good and I've been able to score some neat tiki taka goals.
New tactics feature in Team Management. They got rid of the "Park The Bus" and "All Out Attack" modes. Now it's back to ultra defensive, defensive, balanced, attacking, ultra attacking. With each game plan you can customise the team setup. So if you're playing on legendary against Barcelona in the UCL Final and winning 2-1 with 10 mins to go, you can switch to defensive which for me is a 5-4-1, and the players will automatically get into the new shape.
About the career mode -
Other teams seem to react quicker to transfer/loan listed players. On 3 occasions after placing a player on the transfer list I got an offer within a week or two.
When offering to swap one of your players, now the other manager will give you some more options. In FIFA 18 it was "we're looking for a right winger". If you had no available right wingers then you're screwed. In FIFA 19 it's "we're looking for a right winger, midfielder or striker". It gives you more opportunity to offload some of your fringe players and reduce the transfer cost.
European licensing. The career mode interface is re-skinned in the lead up to a european game - it adds to the feel of a Europa or UCL game.
Board expectations are more realistic and more engaging. For the big clubs it's not just "Win the title" - now it's abit more specific. For example for Chelsea: Short term: Finish in a UCL place. Win the FA cup. Long term: Win the premier league within two seasons. Financial goal: Finish the season with £66 million profit.
Browsing jobs is more realistic but not perfect. Now there's a range of big and small clubs. In my potential job openings I've got Bayern Munich, Leicester, Everton and Burnley. Applied for the Bayern job as a test and I was rejected.
Not much more good to say, its pretty much the same as FIFA 18. On that note...
Things I don't like:
Career mode is mostly just a re-skinned FIFA 18.
Graphics somehow look worse than 18. Players look waxy.
Penalty run ups still look awful.
New "tap twice to hit a perfect volley" is dumb.
Still no change in the stupid international team system. Since when do club managers manage international teams at the same time? Even if it's happened before, it's not common in the modern game. Also it offers zero satisfaction - nothing happens if you win the world cup, nothing happens if you lose, it's just pointless.
I can see why 19 will get bad reviews - we're paying £45 - £70 for the same game with some extra licensing, a new menu skin and a handful of gameplay changes. EA know they could have released this as a FIFA 18 mega-update. It's not worth the months of hyping and promoting. That doesn't exactly make it a bad game though - it's still a slight improvement to 18 but "slight" is ultimately a disappointment.
I find it funny how people can rate a game 0 and then continue to play it for another year, so I'll give it a fair 6. If the extra licensing and new kits etc mean a lot to you then go for it, but if you're a career mode player and think that there's new career mode features that you're missing out on, then you're in for a big disappointment.
P.S haven't heard all the songs but the soundtrack is going strong so far. Bugzy Malone, Octavian, Jungle, Bas/J.Cole, Kojey Radical/Mahalia ("water" is my fav so far), Childish Gambino, Logic, etc.… Expand

This is not just the worst FIFA I'veYou might think this score is because of hyperbole, but I assure you it is not, and I'll tell you why.
This is not just the worst FIFA I've ever played, it could very well be the worst video game I've ever played, or at least it's up there.
It's as buggy as ever, there have been no substantial changes to career mode or pro clubs (in fact, the last update broke player progression in career mode..), Ultimate team is an absolute **** with incredibly bad servers that just highlights the boring and broken gameplay, pay2win casino, a boring and uneven experience in squad battles, the "content" aka SBC's are filled with mistakes and several times EA Sports have had to pull them down because of these mistakes.
When I talk about broken gameplay, I talk about inconsistent passing and shooting, overpowered times finesse shots, AI defending being the best option, which is so boring you might as well fall asleep. In fact the game is so automated you wouldn't believe these conmen try to make you think this is an e-sport.
That sounds pretty bad, but why is this a 0/10 and not 2/10 or even 3/10 you might ask. Because not only is the game buggy, inconsistent, assisted(in both good and bad ways) and boring. It's predatory.
This whole game is about packs, even the journey, the single player story mode, does everything it can with rewards to try and get you into Ultimate Team. The packs contain players and the more you buy, the higher the chance for good players to use or sell for coins to buy the high end players. You can earn packs as weekly rewards through gameplay, but you must play this game A LOT to get something out of it and even then it's mostly a dud. But hey, there's Promo Packs in the store!! With horrendous pack odds, which this year is finally disclosed.
By the way, when there's promos going on with high rated special cards in packs, the pack odds are suspiciously not updated and only show the odds from before the promo.. There was made a post about this on reddit when people complained about getting bad packs during said promo.
Please keep this casino mode in mind if you ever plan on getting your kids this game.… Expand
