Outside of that, this is another solid episode in the series, and I’m as interested in what comes next as I’ve ever been.

But the reason that I so unreservedly love this take on Game of Thrones is because it also has a great story that acts as a canvas for you to express these characters upon. And like any great story, I’m looking forward to the final chapter with mixed emotions because I don’t want this to end.

With an increase in action, Game of Thrones: Episode 5 - A Nest of Vipers exists as an improvement over the series' recent episodes, and sets up a potentially grand finale with a shocking ending.

That's the power of Telltale's unique brand of tailored-by-the-player storytelling: a real sense of authorship and ownership. And that's what I want more of in the season finale. If somebody's going to save House Forrester from ruin, it better be me, dammit.

Technical problems ruin a decent episode. [Issue#170, p.98]

A clear improvement over some of the previous episodes in the series but still misses that something that makes other Telltale games so special. The decisions made throughout (Apart from a final tough decision in the games ending chapter) do not seem to have such an impact like the other games made by Telltale which makes the story line more narrow than I would like. SPOILER: This is seen in the ending scene where you MUST choose between two of the series' main characters to save whilst the other dies. This undermines any previous actions and decisions made in the earlier episodes which left be rather unsatisfied as the situation was not preventable. Despite this, this episode perfectly sets up what is hopefully a brilliant ending episode which I look forward to playing. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've invested in the season pass so will continue playing the game but its 5 episodes in now and I don't seem to of got any redemption from any major character. Once again its an endless cycle of playing with the main characters and making decisions that are only detrimental to the character as opposed to getting some sense of satisfaction or revenge for everything that's gone on in the last 4 episodes. That's what drags my score down here as it made the overall gameplay a little disappointing as once again you are thrust into loosing another character and it becomes a little demoralizing. Expand
