Assembly Required is a solid, but very short, entry. Here's hoping that episode three can start to pull it back around.

The second episode of Telltale's Minecraft: Story Mode provides some fun, but a shorter length, abrupt conclusion, and less impactful moments cause it to pale when compared to its predecessor.

The second episode of Minecraft Story mode isn't near as charming as the first. Thought it features some genuine character development, its poorer writing and direction leave it feeling flat.

The second episode of Minecraft Story Mode feels rushed. It lacks some elements that made episode 1 very enjoyable. Hopefully episode 3 will pick up the pace again.

The world of Minecraft alongside all the fun inside cracks at geekdom is the right fit for Telltale, but so far these first two episodes have failed to craft anything remotely as engaging as The Walking Dead or the excellent Tales From the Borderlands.

While Episode 2: Assembly Required does build on some of the building blocks (ha) from the first episode, it is mostly a step down in terms of quality as well as quantity. I worry that the speed at which the episode was pushed out resulted in some graphical glitches that are not what you expect from a Telltale Games title. It was a solid effort, but mostly just a waste of time.

Episode two is a bland entry to a so-far uninspiring series.

This really gets me thinking twice about continuing to play the game even, the whole episode was 40 minutes long at least it felt like it and nothing new happened! waste of time to me as this counts as a chapter not a full on episode.
