Aug 5, 2019Paper Dolls Original brings us an interesting horror story, based on eastern culture. Lichigames does an incredible job with its design, but fails giving us a smooth gameplay. We hope the Chinese developer polishes Paper Dolls Original sequels, because it has enough talent to do it.

During a car ride with your daughter, you get into an accident, and you awaken without her, trapped in an ancient Chinese mansion. To find your daughter, and escape this mansion, you must uncover the secrets of the mansion, and seal away the spirits inhabiting it. The ambiance set by the mansion itself is foreboding, leaving you uncomfortable from the start, and the Mansion is mostly silent, adding the the unnerving feelings. The sound effects are on point, and along side the silence, every creak makes you cringe, knowing you've alerted something in the darkness. The game plays like a first person point and click adventure, making you solve the puzzles as you wander the eerie Mansion and hide the vengeful spirits that wander the halls. The jump scares are real, and well timed, causing me to actually scream a few times, and hiding from the wandering spirits is discomforting to say the least. The puzzles aren't straight forward, but make sense once you've figured it out. Dark and Gritty, this is a mush have for anyone that enjoys being rattled a bit, Paper Dolls Original is a great horror game that does it's job well.… Expand

Paper Dolls is a 2 hour long first person horror game where you play a dad searching for his daughter in a haunted house.
You can play this game both in its original form as well as with PSVR,
Paper Dools is very puzzle based, it’s a lot of search this area for as many items as you can and then figure out what to do with them, much like a point and click adventure game.. except you can pretty easily put two and two together…
The entire game takes place on one floor of this house, so naturally that means as the game goes on, solutions to different puzzles will be in a room all the way over there..
Youll be completing puzzles and getting keys to unlock new rooms inching towards saving your daughter.
At first that’s no big deal, sure the house is spooky and you get scared here and there… but you have a flashlight.. what could possibly go wrong…
how bout some ghosts haunting the house that instakill you if they catch you.
This is what makes paper dolls so terrifying, the constant stalking while youre trying to explore and collect…
worse is this game doesn’t autosave. If you make any bit of progress, its up to you to run back to the save room and save without getting caught on the way back..
There are desks and closets for you to do that.
The story here left me pretty unsatisfied though, it sequal bates but at the end I feel like I deserved more for what I just put my heart through which really hurst my overall opinion of this game.. it doesn’t quite feel complete…
Theres a way to sequal bait without letting a game feel unfinished.. and this isn’t it…
otherwise this is a great horror game that will keep you looking over your shoulder.
I give Paper Dolls: Original
a 7/10… Expand
