Armed with a punishing mix of blades and bullets, Lo Wang must traverse uncharted parts of the world to track down the dark beast and push the apocalypse back yet again.     Shadow Warrior 3 rushes along with zaniness and gore dispensed in loads, and that combo is oddly satisfying. It feels different, doesn’t take itself too seriously, and is wildly aggressive in how much it wants to make you laugh. I appreciate this approach and had a good time with this game, despite how often it hits the same gameplay and humor notes. When most major releases these days are 100-hour juggernauts, Shadow Warrior 3’s five-hour playthrough is a nice alternative and is worth a look. Just be prepared to groan frequently and be oddly amused by those groans.

    Shadow Warrior 3 is an extreme game in many senses. Extremely fast, extremely violent, extremely fun... a great homage to classic shooters, but level design lacks of variety, and it lost some of the best elements of the previous game.

    The first Shadow Warrior game was one of my favourite games and was full of secrets and interesting levels and non stop fun. The second one was pretty good still but I didn't care for the procedurally generated levels. Both of these games were bargain titles but very good value. This game is a total rip off in my opinion. It is more of a plat-former than a shooter and although there is some fun to be had the longer you play the more you realize you are just running from one arena to another with the same enemies and it gets old pretty quick. On the Xbox One if you die you may end up locked out of continuing because of glitches. There are no fun achievements and nothing to recommend this game for the price they are asking. Huge step back and total cash grab.… Expand

Dumbed-down combat, a gutted moveset for Lo Wang, and some of the most insufferable writing ive ever heard in a videogame all combine to make you somewhat appreciative that this game is only 4 hours long and pathetically easy, so you can finish it and never look back.… Expand
