Its technical shortcomings are easy to ignore and once you grasp the unique gameplay, it turns out to be quite a lot of fun. Definitely recommended for fans, they're sure to have a ball.
All of the elements were there to make this an addictive and challenging title. Instead, it's a slow-paced and confusing jumble.

There is over 175 three-dimensional monsters at your disposal. Various monsters are unlocked in the course of the story. Over 15 characters are unlocked and playable between the three story modes. This game is challenging, so prepare yourself for a tough ride the first time through. Once you have solved the story mode once you retain all of the previously unlocked monsters, including the GODs, and can use them in the next story. It makes things easier the second and third times around. Keep this in mind; the story is different for each character as well as the enemies, so it is not like you play the same story over and over again. If you like the possibility of insane GOD-bearing power, then this game is for you!

Please don’t buy this game. Not for your kid, not for you. It’s not worth it. Get them more cards or something. They won’t get anything out of this Yu-Gi-Oh game other than story.
The Falsebound Kingdom is almost a prophetic title as this inferior product is forced upon the multitude of loyal supporters that are blind to the deception and exploitation employed by the Yu-Gi-Oh Empire.
Anyone who doesn't already have an affinity for Yugi, Kaiba, and the rest of the gang will likely be unable to tolerate the game's shoddy graphics and its dull, shallow gameplay.
There just didn’t seem to be much care put into this title, and if I were a fan of the series, I’d consider this title a slap in the face.
Yu Gi Oh Falsebound Kingdom was by no means a perfect game, but you could tell there was some work put into its development. The large roster of monsters and the inclusion of many Yu Gi Oh cards as items, made the turn-based/strategy game really interesting. While the graphics aren't for everyone the gameplay is quite entertaining and the replay value is adequate for completionists, especially because of the three different story modes. This may not be perfect but it is a fairly entertaining game, definitely recommended for fans of the series.

I personally enjoy this game a fair amount and i pop it in my gamecube every now and then but I do understand the issues everyone has with it. Yes it can be slow at time and id say the graphics are not the best but if you can look past that i think the game is relatively good but not for everyone. if you are not a fan of the card game I would give it a pass. However if you are a fan then pick it up you may enjoy it

The artwork and graphics are solid for this GameCube era Yu-Gi-Oh! game. But the issue with this game is that rather than being a simulator of the actual Yu-Gi-Oh! card game, or an adaptation of the anime, Falsebound Kingdom instead opts to be a turn-based RPG/strategy game hybrid. It fails to honour some of the fundamentals of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s card game roots, especially when weaker monsters can defeat much stronger ones. Pair that with a lackluster roster of monsters, a dull story, and very slow combat. It's a neat game to own for collectors, but an actual slog to play.

An absolute bore ****. A ploddingly slow ripoff of Shining Force with characters from an anime no one likes. It's not even worth owning for a Gamecube collector. I wouldn't recommend this game even as a waterboarding implement. I think the Geneva Accords have a rule against using it. 0/10
