Welcome to the Jungle didn’t need a follow-up, but The Next Level actually ups the ante, rebuking flagging reboots by addressing its material thoughtfully. It makes the return to the jungle a thrill, and, crucially, makes it easy to imagine coming back for more.
Jumanji: The Next Level keeps things upbeat and lively, thanks in no small part to the introduction of two counterintuitively revivifying characters – curmudgeonly old codgers whose gripes and aches provide a jolly counterpoint to the teen angst that fired Kasdan’s previous instalment.
"The Next Level” attempts to find a balance between winking jokes about video gameplay and the price of immortality (no, really), settling back into the charm of the film it’s tasked with following up. It’s not the most original kind of magic, but there’s potency there, more than enough to keep audiences hanging around for at least one more round.
The Next Level is a game too glitchy to stick with long enough to finish, so limited in appeal that it’d be under the tree Christmas Eve, consigned to a closet or basement storage by New Year’s.
For all the emphasis on video game characters who can be swapped out on a whim, it’s the players themselves who come across as the most thinly drawn and interchangeable beneath their avatars.
In true sequel fashion, it is not the hit that its predecessor was. While the use of Danny Devito and Danny Glover is funny, it doesn't hide the fact that characters have the same issues as in the first movie. The charisma of The Rock is non-existent, and other than Jack Black there's not much reason for this cast to be in it. The plot is forgettable, but there's just enough humour in it that it wasn't a failure. It's an average movie.
Suddenly Jumanji is a film that goes in opposite direction to the original. Original Jumanji = Games enter the real world. Jumanji new generation = people from the real world enter the game. Here we are again with the new generation. Although .... In any case the film goes much further in terms of action, team, smile, wink as well as environment. The dead are more diverse and the puzzles too .. Only it is the same more. It is the latter that can be hurtful for the spectator. Just the fact that when it's not new people tend to get bored without knowing why. That's the reason. The film is too much like the old one without revolutionizing one of the genres it shows. A good action, child oriented adventure. For my part we find ourselves in front **** time .. It all depends with whom you spend it
Save for a few jokes here and there delivered with a natural finesse by the actors and some breath-taking action and chase sequences, Jumanji 3 felt like a rehash of the second instalment that just leaves too much to the imagination with the game characters having it too easy this time and the addition of at least one annoying character. TN.
Horrible acting but a note thinker entertainment type of movie. Jack Black gives a little character to this bombshell but overall it's a movie to wait that goes to Netflix
