Land of Bad is an atypical war film because of the contrasts that reflect the different style of modern warfare.
Once Land of Bad establishes its stakes – one man versus an army – the film settles all too comfortably into war-machine territory, minus any particularly inventive kills or sense of style.

A decent military-ops action film. One of those films that is enjoyable in the movement but also forgettable at the same time. If you like these type of films it likely worth a watch. If not, then you are not missing much.

Despite quality performances from both leading lads, Land of Bad won’t exactly knock anyone’s socks off.
If you can get through a rough first act, you’ll see both absurd military superheroics and the greatest grocery run ever.
As it is, “Land of Bad” is a pandering drama with some action movie thrills.

Land of Bad is a solid-enough B-movie combat thriller with the cast and production values of an A-picture.
Gostei muito dessa patuscada, especialmente como trabalha o suspense, e olha que o lugar é bem aberto, mas mantem o clima claustrofóbico, por mais que tudo seja clichê aqui: um verdadeiro Rambo, o que foi bem forçado para um combatente inexperiente. Ao menos tá bem atuado e dirigido. O humor aqui funciona como contraponto a uma hierarquia militar acostumada com status: o desleixo é parte da humanidade que brota em ambientes hostis. Mas confesso que preferia um fim mais trágico, faltou coragem.

The movie had textbook ensemble of badass characters with a questionable plot surrounding them. Hovering between realism and non-realism. It was a low-budget action film and I don't say that with negative connotations, it added to the charm of the film. Hemsworth had trouble selling the character, but to be fair to the actor; the character was a tough sell.. A freshie soldier who hasn't had real battlefield experience is thrusted into a difficult scenario and he is expected to seem incompetent while also being competent enough be the hero of the story. It's a tough sell.
All in all, it's not the worst thing you can watch on a slow Saturday night. Has potential to be a funny movie you can watch at home with some friends and jab at the tropes. The explosions were mesmerizingly impressive. The pacing keeps you engaged throughout with little to no "smoke breaks".
