The Fall Guy is hugely entertaining. A love letter to stunt persons and to filmmaking in general, the film is a romantic comedy for everyone who hates romantic comedies and an action thriller for those less than keen on the genre.
This is a ridiculously fun movie, anchored by a movie star in a part that fits him perfectly and a director who really has been working toward this film for his entire career.
This was an amazing movie and it truly has something for everyone! Ryan Gosling delivered a phenomenal performance as usual but the action packed sequences paired with perfect romance dynamic were everything to produce a perfectly thrilling movie that had me glued to my seat the entire time. I mean that with no exaggerations either - I didn't even want to get up to go to the bathroom after drinking my Pepsi entirely too fast in the previews because it was so good. I highly recommend this one!
Colt Seavers was my childhood hero. I watched every episode and once nearly broke my neck trying to recreate on of Colt's crazy stunts. That is to say, I had HUGE expectations going into this Gosling vehicle with my 11-year old son. I was totally ready to hate this complete re-imagination of my childhood favourite. Well, it won me over. Completely. The best thing I can say about the movie is that it doesn't really need any association to the original Fall Guy. Marketed by any other name, it would work just as well. It's a love letter to 80s action and has a love-story between two people with actual chemistry. I loved it. If you like cars, stunts and the 80s, this is a no-brainer. A very enthusiastic Colt "".
The Fall Guy is a delight from start to finish, thanks to a sparkling script, thrilling action sequences and to-die-for comic chemistry between the two leads.
The Fall Guy is funny, it’s sexy, and it features the boy toy version of “Barbie” MVP Ryan Gosling — which is to say, this time around, he embodies the ultimate action figure.
Working with a script from Drew Pearce (“Hobbs & Shaw”), Leitch packs the film with wall-to-wall action, in both the film’s movie sets and its real world. And with the self-referential humor, the industry jokes and the promise of a little romance, it feels like one of those movies we all complain they don’t make anymore.
The latest jacked up, action extravaganza from stunt man turned director David Leitch (his last film, the not-very-good Bullet Train, is still leagues ahead of this movie in terms of imagination and execution), teems with contempt for the audience it is desperate to win over.
I like his Films, Grey Man was great too. Just a nice Film to just relax and enjoy. Good action and comedy too. Way better than all the other trash out there. :)
Started off well then just loses itself not knowing what sort of film it wants to be. Scenes become off beat from the rest of the film. It's a film largely led by stunts but instead of interesting and original ones we are just left with the cliches with a rather predictable and dull ending
The good reviews you may have read were probably bought and paid for by the studios. This movie was abysmally bad. It's stupid, not funny and not worth the price of a movie ticket - if you have AMC Stubs or MoviePass, then it's not worth the drive or the soda/popcorn cost. If you MUST see it, wait til it's streaming for free.
