Fire Country has more story and stronger characters at the outset than a CBS procedural like this usually has, and that’ll carry the show when the fires start looking all the same as each other.
Added relationship drama helps this series rise slightly above the middle of the pack among CBS procedurals.

Fire Country is a very good TV series but I was totally disappointed with the season finale episode 22. It was the worse. Out of the blue you have an investigator accusing Bode of being a drug dealer for 3 Rocks. She presents no evidence and on the spot before his parole hearing, Bode decides to lie to everyone, including his parents and Gabriella who he dearly loves and respect. That would never happen. How ridiculous.

This is a fun series to watch, it’s not over the top, but still holds my interest. I do like both Billy Burke and Max Thieriot, I enjoy watching series they have done in the past. Plus slide is it’s filming I’m my town and I enjoy seeing local places on tv.

Efficiently introduces a substantial cast. ... As their characters’ lives overlap and make room for each other to the tune of twanging country guitars, some decent pairs of chemistry emerge. But make no mistake: from its conception to its premise to all its most standout scenes, this show is Thieriot’s. ... It might’ve been harder — or at least more complicated — to dive deeper into the stories of the men who left prison alongside Bode, but if “Fire Country” could make even that slight gesture toward honoring the experiences fueling this show, it would be far better for it.
So overwhelming is the Bode-ness of it all that Fire Country leaves little oxygen for anything or anyone else, flattening what could have been a smarter, more interesting procedural.
“Fire Country” is too much of a piece with other shows of its ilk to feel new and exciting, but that ilk — the prime-time, location-based action-soap — has made hay for decades.
Despite the sizable scale of its emergencies, which is a commendable achievement in visual effects, the show’s first two episodes feel bound to the conventions of its overcrowded genre and hardly break any new ground in terms of characterization, introducing a painfully thin set of characters who lack the chemistry necessary for weekly appointment television.
It's easy enough to see where things are going, though the interrelationships of the characters come as some surprise, even in a show so otherwise predictably plotted and paced. The actors, strait-jacketed by the format, don't really have much of a chance to shine, though Billy Burke as Edgewater battalion chief Vince Leone makes a solid impression as does Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez. ... Mr. Thieriot, of "SEAL Team" and "Bates Motel," has a lot to do.
This show is now my new favorite on TV absolutely full of action, drama, and real emotions. Not just rescues and saves. Highly recommend!

More major network TV drivel. Feels like the target market is fly over country / Boomers. The major networks could learn a lot from British TV. Not everyone needs to be a model. In fact, it makes things far less believable.

This Tv show could be so much better. But the story should be more about the criminals with bode and not the two fire team members Jake and eve. First off. Eve is not an all around hero she is a waste of space with her acting and she is a terrible character. There should be more characters In the fire dept then just the lesbian eve and Jake. Jake is good but again stop focusing on the g a y character that majority of Americans don’t give a Damn about and that episode where she has her line cut is laughable she would have been knocked out in real life or have died. Yes I know this is fake but again make a shows more realistic The story is good but again focus on the criminals not just fire team 2. Bill burke is fantastic as always but this falls short of an awesome show. Sadly this could be so much better.

It is turning into the Bode & Gabby show.I don't like them. Bode is in a perpetual solo pity party & Gabby thinks everything is about her.Both are disrespectful, arrogant and don't have a clue how to follow orders or what "chain of command" means.Just 2 self-centered people.Gabby cares for no one but herself-Bode tries to look sympathetic but actually looks constipated.Gabby is NOT a fire fighter just a tease-Bode is not a hero only a glory hound.Farr & Burke perfect as was girl who fell.Others ok
