With heavy spy thrills and a giddy superpowers-in-a-pill season arc, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is starting to feel less like a secondary treat for fans of the MCU and more like a loosen-the-top-button style main course.
Season 3 again delivers and has the same strength that made this show enjoyable. These are strong characters you are attached to atop on character development, immersive story arcs and great twist that hit you like a truck. I must say this season has the best twist for the show. All are believable, make sense and enhance the experience. Because the last 2 seasons surprised me often I said to myself that this time I will be prepared and analyze everything and make correct predictions. I failed except in 1 cases were I could predict that something was a trick or trap but would never guessed the actual event. This season continues the events from the conclusion of season 2. Terrigen has been released to the ocean and is slowly spreading around the world / environment (If a human has Inhuman genes or enough Inhuman genes he/she will be transformed by Terrigen gaining superpowers). This is a horrifying experience for many as all people are unaware and causing panics and unintentional destruction as they have no control of their powers. Shield is trying to help them but they are not the only party involved as Inhumans are seen different by many fractions (Assets, weapons, menaces or just humans with abilities). This will cause much tensions. Meanwhile Hydra while being hit hard is not destroyed. They try to rebuild. Also Jemma Simmons has vanished and the team is trying their best to save here or even understand what happens. This are just some set ups as there are more arcs and developments. The season has a lot of character development. Be it again Phil Caulson, Daisy Johnson (formerly know as Skye), Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons or especially Grant Ward. I think Grant Ward has the greatest story arc and I was impressed what they did with his character. For Agents of Shield I generally recommend watching all episodes as the developments, twists and arcs are worth it. This way you get the full impact, excitement and enjoyment. There are a few characters added in this season. We got Elean Rodriguez played by Natalia Cordova-Buckley. A great addition to the cast and she develops well during the show. Lincoln Campell played by Luke Mitchell returns and gets a bigger role in this season. His struggles and development make him relatable. Andrew Garner played by Blair Underwood also returns and has more screentime. He has a great arc and backstory. He is the hidden star of this season for me and I had once tears in my eyes in his greatest scene. There are some other characters that will return or developed for further seasons. I am vague because of spoilers as the twist are a staple of this show (Yes I repeat this a lot). The special effects are really good for a TV show. Because this is the “It looks so natural and whole” case that I often forget to even mention it. The fight scenes are again a highlight. The choreography is always excellent. My standard remark is always “You feel the impact and intensity”. Overall this is another great season full of great character development, story arcs and so far the best twist of the show. Worth watching from start to finish. Be warned for season 4 (Not because it is bad!). At approx the second third it gets pretty grim and dark. I stopped a bit to let this sink in before I continued.
YES... Yeeessss... My greatest characters Fitz and Simmons were amazing. Wow. Simmons almost made me cry in this season so amazing she was and Fitz was awesome. I loved it. Definitely 10/10. Oh I almost forgot... And Skye was fantastic. You go girl. #TeamSkye
Never would've thought, that this show is gonna improve THAAAT much. It's quality became even better than in Netflix Marvel shows. Great acting. Amazing story. Absolutely beautiful CGI.
Very stupid show. Season 1 was awful, season 2 was horrible, and now season 3 is a bunch of **** The writers truly **** at what they do. Only reason i watch is purely out of being bored. When are they going to make a good show. With stupid shows like "The Flash", "Gotham", and "Agents Of Shield" television is really going down the drain. Who approves these kind of shows? Horrible everything, including acting and story line.
