Yes, it's a little bit odd, but this is a unique and capricious comedy.
It’s an old story in a new loincloth. But it works.

Either clever idea or one-trick pony, the Son of Zorn pilot can’t entirely decide which it is either.
Most of the jokes are amusing but only a couple got big laughs because they're offbeat like the premise.
There are glimpses of scenes and traces of dialogue that hint at something cunning and clever coming, but Son of Zorn has too many battle axes and hidden daggers in its hands to be able to handle the swift, subtle touches that premises so out-there crazy need to be executed properly.
There’s always a very outside chance that Son of Zorn could have the legs of an ALF in the annals of hybrids turned into weekly sitcoms. But this already looks like pretty thin stuff that’s not worth writing home about--not even from the planet Zephyria.
It gets old the minute it starts.
Hilarious, I am hooked. I started watching on my own, and now I am watching it with my 16 year old daughter. I enjoy the He-Man/skull smashing, barbarian mix. I really need a throat bagpipe..

SEASON 1
I am really on the fence with Son of Zorn. On one hand, it's a refreshing, unique, concept that is rarely seen outside of cinema. On the other, Son of Zorn feels like it could be better, could be funnier than it actually is. For whatever reason, it feel's oddly restrained a lot of times and many of the jokes fall pretty flat.
If this was directed, written or produced by Seth Macfarlane, it would have been solid gold.

SEASON 1
If this show is successful, then there is no hope for America as a nation. The acting is terrible, no doubt due to the need to integrate with a cartoon. The humor is bathroom humor of the lowest order lacking any creativity or redeeming value.
They take what could be a good premise, a cartoon superhero, trying to relate to an ordinary teenage son and turn it into a bunch of low moral BS, typical of hollywood degenerates. Yeah I get it, there is an imperative to continue the demoralization of the US population. But I never laughed once at their utter stupidity.
Rather I got angry and insulted that they passed this drivel off as entertainment. Please fail. Please don't tell me that the US population is actually entertained by this. If so the apocalypse is not far off.
