It is ending at exactly the appropriate moment, and these last episodes are the finest ode to what’s been a fabulously funny and exquisitely-produced series. That was Mrs Maisel – thank you, and good night.
The last season is stuffed – and remarkably so. It gives newcomers like Reid Scott and Jason Ralph a good foothold in the series and suggests there’s much more that could be mined. ... Season Five wasn’t just business as usual. “Marvelous” is only one word to describe it.

What an amazing finale that was. I have always loved how you watch an actual stand-up performance in the show, and the finale had the best performance with all the build up throughout the season. Whole season 5 was an excellent resolution for Midge's story in the show, especially with the time jump plays, it was extremely well written and played. With all of the episodes, I guess this season has become my favorite TV show season among total of hours and days and months of TV watching recollection. Also all the stage, scenery, costumes, interiors, all the visual tricks were flawless and captivating as always. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, both as a TV show and as Rachel Brosnahan's exceptionally enacted character, has been a marvelous experience.

SEASON 5
This final season is most certainly worth watching for anyone who has made it this far. There are laugh-out-loud quips, endlessly watchable antics from our side characters that feel far less grating than previous seasons, and even some tear-jerking moments.
This final series may prove more divisive amongst devotees – the prolepsis, which opens episodes, is not entirely successful – but the accomplishment over these five series still stands.
The will-they-won’t-they of this season is not if Midge will make it or what man she picks next. It’s whether she’ll find a way back to Susie. And that has been the greatest strength of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"—under its protagonist's impeccable hats and charmed life, it's the story of workplace relationships, ambition, and female friendship.
Watching these episodes, with their detours and digressions, it seems fairly clear that for better or worse, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel can’t stray too far from the comfort of its old routine.
“Go Forward!” that big billboard beckoned Midge going into season five. And The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel does eventually go forward. It just sadly doesn’t take us along for the ride.

Ever since the pilot was released in March 2017 and the first season was released until November of that same year I followed this show for one reason only, even taking into account many of the things that had been done right in its production and storytelling. That reason was Rachel Brosnahan and to this day it is still her.
The character she developed was in equal measures as smart as she was ingenious. Yes perhaps too perfect in places, but she brought it to life in an excellent way.
The problem with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as a whole is that it started out as a great show and season by season it got watered down. The series lost pace and simply didn't address the true heart of its plot and spent 4 seasons holding its lead character back while suffering professional setbacks over and over again.
I think the plan of its creator was to expand the show but everything points to Amazon pressuring her to end with the fifth season and so the whole ensemble suffers by delivering 9 episodes that amount to a rushed plot that leaves everything up in the air and only fills in the gaps of Midge's future with flash-forwards that illustrate how she did become a successful comedian but only that. Her character doesn't have a proper closure and it's all just a biting laugh in the last few seconds.
Not many people know how to do endings and this is sadly just another example.
I recommend the show because it is worth watching and because as I said Rachel Brosnahan's acting work is outstanding, but in my personal opinion the scripts of this final season did not live up to what the character became.
