Lacks excitement. It is a simple game in which the only thing that stands out are the graphical elements.
The sense of speed is somewhat equivalent to the electric carts available to the recently injured at grocery stores. [Oct 2003, p.123]
Just too shallow and way too easy to challenge or entertain anyone of any age for any substantial period of time. Fans of the show may want to rent for a day but all others can simply stay away.
It actually feels more like "Wipeout" or "Extreme-G Racing" than "Crash Team Racing" or "Mario Kart." Well, a crappier version of "Wipeout" or "Extreme-G," anyway. [Oct 2003, p.116]
Budget marked at $19.99 from the moment it ships, Butt-Ugly Martians is still over-priced, and even when offered to young, inexperienced children, the fun factor just isn't there.
The biggest problem with BUM:ZoD (actually BumZod is kind of a cool word…ya bumzod!) is directly related to the narrow track design that awaits you on every track. Crashing, smashing and bashing into the sides is something you'll have to get used to because there is no discernible way of NOT doing it.
