Shadows over Loathing is an incredible game that deserves a perfect 10/10 rating! The enemies you encounter are charming and lovable, making battles a joy. The puzzles add fun challenges, though some need a guide to solve. It's the ideal sequel to West of Loathing, keeping the original game's humor while introducing new elements, such as being more story-focused. If you loved the first game, this is a must-play experience that won't disappoint! The only complaint about the game is actually that it's so good that it actually makes West of Loathing seem terrible by comparison!
Shadows over Loathing is a perfect sequel to West of Loathing, it improves in ever aspect the original game was good at without giving up the comical art and humour of the game.
Shadow Over Loathing is an absolute treat! The writing is witty and entertaining, each zone is jam-packed with quests, clever puzzles, and fantastic music. They even kicked the art up a notch or two! The only snag in is otherwise silky smooth blanket is the combat. The combat (for what it is) is still good, but its a little less involved than in the West of Loathing as instead of picking a class you just pick and choose skill books throughout the game which backs the already simple combat feel even simpler which i suppose for some is a boon. Overall Shadow Over Loathing is delightful game and is worth picking up if you're in the mood for a bit of Eldritch fun.
Shadows Over Loathing firmly establishes the Loathing RPGs as a solid franchise. It is yet another weird, surreal and wonderfully entertaining RPG in what will hopefully be a long-running series. It is absurd, weird, strange and incredibly fun and I have no problem recommending it to anyone.
This is honestly a more better "West of Loathing" It also keeps true with its humour and art style, The content's length is probably multiplied by 10 yet it somehow isn't as boring over other games, There is so much things to do even when I have about 16 playthroughs there is still a lot to do with only the story a bit too wacky an absolute 9/10.
good stuff, takes itself a little more seriously than it's predecessor but still very funny. lots of dialogue options and very likable characters. the combat, equipment, and stats are very simple and stays enjoyable throughout the game. great western rpg even if not as literally as west of loathing
