It is not fully voiced, no towns or dungeons to move around. not a AAA game for sure, but it has unique combat, a non-linear story, exceptional music, and various playable characters. After all, it is a Saga game, one of the greatest JRPG franchises.
(MY SCORE : 7.5 /10) Quite an exciting JRPG game with a Turn-Based Party system in combat! In this game we can choose one of five Main Characters to play, namely: Tsunanori Mido, Bonnie Blair & Formina Franklyn, Diva No. 5, Ameya Aisling, and Siugnas. And I myself chose Bonnie & Formina as the main characters!
The new Saga game is unfortunately a disappointment.
The enemies were largely taken from the game Scarlet Grace and so far they offer even less variety. However, after 3 playthroughs out of a total of 5 with different characters, I also noticed that there are no special bosses anymore, and when you face one of the stronger opponents, unfortunately it is only one that has already been seen several times. It repeats itself Everything happens too often and you notice more and more that Square Enix is simply putting too little budget into what is actually a great series. It's a big step back from what has always made the series so great.
Endgame? Nothing to see so far and according to the trophies there are no more special enemies coming. The two trophies for the strongest enemies in the game are for the 2 final boss phases, which unfortunately turned out to be very **** combat system is fun, but even in the older Saga games I enjoyed it a lot more, and the innovations aren't enough.
I doubt that some of the reviewers have even played through the **** hope of a turn-based masterpiece from Square Enix is now dying even more, especially if they no longer value polishing such turn-based games to a high shine.
Next will probably be a saga game with action combat, so that today's generation is satisfied and happy with mediocre game mechanics that don't even require them to use a brain cell.
It's baffling to me the high scores this game is getting. This game looks and feels as low budget as you can get with a Square Enix IP. Most of their mobile games have higher production value than this game. Not only that, but it's not just the graphics and presentation of the game that's bad, it's the story and writing too. And the cardboard cut out excuses for "cutscenes" don't help with the mediocre story either. The combat gameplay is decent. It's no Octopath or Persona but it's good enough on its own. It's not good enough to stomach through the abysmal package surrounding it though. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone unless it's $5 or less and you have nothing better to do.
