When I was getting into AVNs, this was one of the most highly rated on Steam. I bought it, and it sat on my backlog while I played 'The Seven Realms', 'Projekt: Passion', and a few others (both are games I would highly recommend). I mean, it's a game called 'Being a DIK' that follows a guy starting college and joining a frat called Delta Iota Kappa- seems like a pretty mediocre setup... Nope. This may be one of the most enjoyable reads on the internet. I've gushed over DrPinkCake before, (their first game 'Acting Lessons" is heartbreaking) but Being a DIK is a masterpiece.
On the surface: The lewd scenes are well animated and sexy, the renders avoid the weird facial stretching that other photorealistic AVNs tend to struggle with, and every character looks unique. Dig a little deeper and you'll see how DPC's writing not only shows instead of telling (a rare feat), but crafts a sweet, sexy, hilarious, heartwarming (and breaking) experience that **** the assumption you'd likely make based on the cover. This game will make you cry ugly tears at points, and then you'll be laughing and horny two minutes later.
There is no voice acting, but the OST finds a way to perfectly enhance emotional scenes, which elevates this game from its digital pages. I found myself adding certain tracks to my playlists - if you've ever played the Persona games, the soundtrack has a similar earworm effect while being entirely different thematically. It's a good blend of punk and indie pop, catchy as ****,
Replayability is very high. A certain point later in the story requires you to make a choice among various love interests, and the general nature of the games' DIK and CHICK scale (based on your choices) creates a ton of options for your next run. Being able to name saves, and having an inordinate amount of save slots, makes the process of going back to check other dialogue options easy and organized. 'Being a DIK' seasons 1 and 2 take ~25 hours to complete in it's current state (season 3 is on the horizon, available as a Patreon pledge). I was a little over 70 before I decided I needed to preach the good word, and came here. Those 70 hours were well spent, and it's only going to keep climbing from there with further releases... To be clear those 70 hours don't include the addition season 3 content outside of Steam. It's too damn charming to not get more of my attention.
If you're looking for more than the average AVN, and you are if you're reading this review, buy this game - now. This should be the standard for AVNs, and you will not be disappointed.
For me, 95/100.
The game is like the Red Dead Redemption 2 of Adult Visual Novels. After you play this, you cannot just play any other AVN. A splendid "Choose your own adventure" game.
By the way, only %5 of the game is actually adult content, other %95 is feelings of anger, brotherhood, sadness, love etc.
Without a doubt the best adult game. Immersive story, interesting characters, fun gameplay mechanics and beautiful visuals. The only problem is that the game is not finished yet. In the third season, I hope it will be completed and we won't have to wait any longer.
The game is a "light" adventure game, pretty good but I have to say I really-really miss voiceovers. That's where Lust Theory trumps this; it's like half of what creates a really good atmosphere in such a game.
The graphics are good, not brilliant but good.
The story is great, it's engaging, maybe even a bit too much - it dilutes the erotic tale a bit, somewhat distracting IMO.
The girls look great, though, and only a few are mildly inhuman in proportions, big bonus there.
What I really hate is those screen shakes going "bang", usually for no good reason. Oh and the music is generally garbage.
Still, it's far better than watching stale porn :)
I thought I was playing this game because I was excited, but I was wrong. The game is amazing, with great art style and story. I haven't finished the game yet, but I have to say where I'm from so far in its amazing. Thanks to Porngameshub , they give you the opportunity to play without any restrictions and with the latest updates.
