The Digimon racers are delightful and the whole atmosphere is upbeat, light-hearted and visually pleasing.
Apart from having the first real racing game to feature Wireless Adapter support, there's no real reason to choose Digimon Racing over "Mario Kart: Super Circuit" or "Crash Nitro Kart" on the Game Boy Advance.
The racing action is similar to that of other kart games, but the Digimon influence adds a fun gameplay edge. [Oct 2004, p.124]
The game doesn't handle nearly as well as games like "Mario Kart: Super Circuit." This is especially frustrating when paired with a track that blends a bit too well into the surrounding environment, and there are quite a few of those tracks. [Apr 2004, p.90]
The cars are easy to control, the weapons are easy to launch and the tracks can be fun to navigate for a while. This isn't a bad game if you're just looking for some mindless fun to pass the time.
What it does, however, is offer fans of the cartoon series a reasonably fun diversion for the twenty-three and a half hours between episodes.
