This is really a gem of a game that, while short, is a steal at a release price of $30. Like a good bourbon, it goes down smooth but is over all too quickly, but this isn’t a reason to marginalize it.

Its camera system and length certainly hold it back from getting a better score, but the gameplay itself is a lot of fun.
There’s a vibrancy that ensures progress is a pleasure and backtracking is seldom a chore – in fact, the game is often at its best when you’re free from the demands of unlocking the next section and simply revelling in your buoyant weightlessness. [Nov 2004, p.110]
If a kid wants to play as a fish, then Finny is up their alley and hopefully they'll give up before the annoying gameplay gets to them.
Finny isn't my favorite title out there, but it is fresh. It's probably best a game for younger players. There's no real violence other than food chain stuff, and the story line is pretty gentle -- even when you're finding new ways to sleep with the fishes.
