Still smarting from his last defeat, Dr. Neo Cortex has developed a new diabolical plan to steal ancient crystals and unleash destructive gods on Crash and the planet Earth. With Crash and his sister Coco, it's now up to you to find and return all the crystals across dangerous levels, including a volcanic island, a Japanese village, and the jungles of Africa. You'll find many ways to move around, whether you maneuver a Jeep, fly a hang glider, or pilot a Crash-Mech. But don't marvel too long at the new inventions, because you might find yourself in a heap of destruction. Expand

  1. Gamers experiencing the wacky mascot for the first time may enjoy it.
  2. Safe, sterile and redundant.
  3. The straightforward nature of the levels begs for more openness, which isn't available. It was fun while it lasted, but even that wasn't that long.

Graphically, this version is slightly below the recent Xbox release but in line with the competent PlayStation 2 iteration.

Wrath on the GC is much more polished here than on the PS2. [Nov 2002, p.306]
  6. The gameplay is generic to say the least – just run along a set path jumping gaps and avoiding enemies.

This truly is a shell of the other two console versions, so I beg you to pass. [Oct 2002, p.84]

The problems I have with the game are that there are too vehicle sections and the moments when Crash is hanging across the bars. Out of all the levels, over half of them contain a vehicle, but they aren't bad, just overused. And when you are moving across the bars, my gosh, you move very slowly and it can get tedious after a while, but luckily, they don't last too long.

Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex is a game is a game I wouldn't really recommend to anyone, but it is still a game I would buy.

A Crash game on a nintendo console? WHAT POPPYCOCK! Yet, here I am, playing a Crash game on the 16 year old purple/black/orange cube. It looks pretty good, the sound design is enjoyable and there's some great variety in levels. But, overall, it doesn't really change much about the formula. Overall, someone who is new to the Crash games will enjoy this a lot, but seeasoned Crash fans won't really find anything new here Expand
