An excellent porting for an incredible twin-stick shooter that runs perfectly on Vita. Aside for some occasional frame-rate drop, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved looks and play flawlessly on the little-big Vita screen.
I just f/cking love geometry wars. Tthis is pure perfection for me. Starting with excellent smooth gameplay and controls finishing on really nice challenge and pure fun flowing at You straight out of the screen. This is essentially what the video game should be. I couldnt recommend this game enough. This is even better than resogun, it has waaay more content. It runs a bit worse than PS4 version, so its a bit harder to controll your ship sometimes.
A damn near perfectly tuned and gorgeous twin stick shooter on the vita. It has tons of modes and arenas to tackle in your efforts to best chums on the leaderboards.
Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved is an excellent twin analog shooter, with lots of content but unresponsive controls on PlayStation Vita due to the tiny analogs.
One of the most fantastic twin stick shooters to date, Geometry Wars 3 is the definitive version of this game.
It runs absolutely buttery smooth, and with so many modes; it's well worth the $20 (AUD).
Twin-stick shooter fans have something to rejoice over. "Evolved" brings even more content to the game. The shooting has just as much an emphasis on quick reflexes as it does memorizing enemy patterns. However the latter is hard to do given the geometry aspect of the game.
Levels often show off impressive 3D designs. Rolling around the sides of circular or cube levels, and watching your bullets wrap around the entire arena gives the game an extra sense of uniqueness that helps make it stand out from the pack. With plenty of challenges to overcome there's a lot more to offer players outside of just the standard high-score hunting. Levels often have unique objectives to overcome.
The game isn't flawless though. Some poorly conceived boss battles feel out of place among the standard levels. They come down to just dodging waves of regular enemies while trying to focus fire on the main target. The majority of them aren't bad, but only having one life can be frustrating when you are killed by what feels like a random and cheap hit. The final boss "Topaz" feel particularly cheap, drawn out, and monotonous. Another issue with the gam is that competitive multiplayer modes are dead, at least on the Vita.
It's issues don't do much to bring down the overall package. This is still a content rich twin-stick shooter with fast paced action. Add in some two-player co-op and you've got a fun game to play with a buddy. With plenty of challenge and objectives to conquer, this is a fungame that can keep players busy for quite a while.
