This game is very fun with plenty of different levels and is fast-paced gameplay. It is something I can see playing any time of the day, for a short amount of time or for a large amount. Each game provides its own difficulties, challenging the mind and working on building better concentration, focusing, and quick thinking skills while playing.
Ghosts and Apples is a thoroughly enjoyable game. Simple controls, Tim Burton aesthetic, and unique, addictive gameplay make for a great experience. While the difficulty curve is a bit steep for my tastes, the challenges are certainly part of the fun. There’s also a solid versus mode for two players. I played several matches against my husband and it’s just as addicting as the story mode. If you’re in the market for a unique puzzle-y, arcade-y, increasingly frantic game, Ghosts and Apples may just scratch that itch for you.

This game genuinely caught me by surprise. At first it can be a bit overwhelming for younger players but after just a few minutes little man figured it out and was able to play with me for a couple hours and have a great time. For older players the game should be relatively simple to pick up though.
The controls - are simple and consist of just a few buttons to remember.
The graphics - are bright and colorful, really nice to look at plus the artistic style was great.
The story - is funny and engaging enough to keep you interested, really the riddles and poems are fantastic.
The game play - is deceptively challenging after the first couple of stages. Its surprisingly addictive too. I really enjoy playing every couple of days with my son!
Overall I think this is a great game, and on top of that the developers are seemingly really nice people. Well worth a play through plus multiplayer is always great!
Ghost and Apples is a fantastic indie game in which you go through multiple levels and separate ghosts by color in order to collect them for points. Each level has you to collect a quota of ghosts in order to move on to the next.
In addition to the regular levels, there are challenge levels that can be completed as well, which gives you three different challenges to complete. The controls were very simple and I had no issues with the controls, and the game does pick up in difficulty as you go through the game.
The game is also accessible so if you are someone who has color-blindness and cannot tell the difference between the colors. The game does offer an option to play with color-blind mode.
I thought that the art style was beautiful and had a lot of fun with the game. I do hope that in the near future and if the game does well, that it may port over to other consoles as well as PC.
What a great fun game and twist on the genre of match 3 gaming. A nice looking fun and progressively
harder as you go game with a fun and "scary" story to it that is a must buy for anyone who loves a good puzzler.
Just because a puzzle game is pretty simple in its design doesn’t mean it can’t be challenging and even maddening. Ghosts and Apples demonstrates this in spades, with the controls being merely a matter of selecting the top or bottom of the tubes to the left or right of your character to stuff ghosts into. The goal is simple to stack ghosts of the same color to make them disappear. Simple, right? Funny how upping the pace and throwing some additional roadblocks in your way can quickly make it feel anything but. In the end this really isn’t a casual game at all, despite what you may assume looking at it, and can be a frantic challenge, no matter how simple its premise may be.

Ghosts and Apples is a strategic puzzle game with a Halloween theme. Players control a character named Jack Redrum, who looks as if he came out of a Tim Burton film.
When your character arrives at a mysterious house with odd things happening in the background, your character’s soul gets trapped into the puppet, Jack Redrum. Now you have to find a way to return to your body while exploring this mysterious house.
Ghost and Apples is a puzzles game where players must capture different coloured ghosts in match-three style. Players use a balloon-like capturing device that captures ghosts as they float onto the screen. Gameplay is simple as players only need to use four buttons when capturing ghosts. Up and down is used for left captures and B and X for right captures. In later levels, players unlock the ability to slow down time with A, but the general control scheme is those four buttons because I often forget all about slowing down time, possibly why some of my times were bad.
The levels are time-based, and players need to capture several ghosts before officially completing a level. On either side of the screen, there are tubes that each captured ghost goes into. At the start of each level, there are a number of ghosts in each one, each with varying colours from red, blue, yellow, purple, green, orange and more colours. As I said prior, the goal is to match three of the same colours; once doing this, the player will have caught three ghosts of that colour.
For example, if there is a blue on top and a yellow under on the left side and a blue ghost appears, the player will need to press up to connect. This process was easier said than done, especially on the later levels when the game got a bit more hectic. It was one of the things I loved that about Ghosts and Apples is that the game has such a simple mechanic, but it was hard to master, and I found myself on more than one occasion putting the wrong ghost into the wrong tube because of me simply pressing x instead of up. It was annoying that I lost levels because of my stuff ups, but at least I knew they were my fault as I tried to keep up with the game.
One of my favourite things about Ghosts and Apples is the art style, as it had that cute and scary feel to it that most Tim Burton films have, especially his animated features. Everything was so colourful with that dark feel to it, and seeing as I am a **** for that stuff, it got me; it really made me fall in love with the game.
Having a beautiful game is great, but unless it is fun to play, that beauty just goes out the window. Luckily Ghosts and Apples is both addictive and fun, especially when played in small increments and in handheld mode; it just seemed like the perfect fit. That’s not to say the game can’t be enjoyed any other way, but it plays well with those strengths.
I enjoyed Ghosts and Apples, and even though it frustrated me to the core on some of the later levels, it is still a fun game that makes you say, “One more try.”.

SummaryUnique gameplay with action, strategy, reasoning and memory. Evocative hand-drawn art style. Over 150 levels designed to thrill.
You have come to a house full of magic where intrigue and mystery reign. A ghost spies through the window while an octopus acts as a coat hanger. A raven is guarding the evil potion brewing cauldron. And, in...
