If you already know the "Trash Game of the Year Edition" of the prequel "Into the Dark" being sold at Desura, you have a basic understanding of this game, too.
It´s in Alpha early access state so far, but it´s already better than Into the Dark itself.
If you have no freaking idea what I am talking about, let´s cut it short: This is the funniest and most offensive game you can imagine. And pretty tough to beat.
Well, the other reviews sum it up pretty well. However, for all the fans of the schlocky Trash feast of unique and bizarre gaming that "Into the Dark" had been, a slight warning: This time, the special gaming experience literally invented by Homegrown Games is not dressed as Survival Horror like the first game, it´s rather some kind of "Infiltration Shooter". Doesn´t matter in the long run, as you will start laughing and sweating soon enough until you finished the Alpha of this upcoming masterpiece.
Hail to the Gods of B-Movie-gaming!
I would give this one a 10, too but seriously, a 10 10 for a playable Alpha? That would be a little bit insane, especially as I hope the full game will turn out even better. However, as the others already said, this is most likely the funniest game experience composed out of trash, **** and British research stations you can imagine.
Into the Ice is not a finished game yet, it is right now the first Alpha you get when participating in the Alpha funding at desura:

Having said that, I can assure you that even the Alpha is not only worth buying, but definately a must-have game for all of you who have a soft spot for B-movies, trash and a good laugh.
After the first, technically quite flawed release of "Into the Dark", the Austrian developers from Homegrown Games have overhauled their game and created a "Trash Game of the Year Desura Edition" that became one of the best-selling and most popular games on IndieDB. The promise of a "playable B-Movie" was not only fulfilled, it was over-fulfilled. The crude mix of shooter and adventure gameplay was stuffed with pop culture references, easter eggs, jokes and ingame movie-moments re-enactement scenes. It was one of the best games I ever played.
Into the Ice, the sequel telling a totally weirs story about **** in Antarctica, is even more exciting, more thrilling and funnier and from a technical point of view, lightyears ahead of "Into the Dark".
