    Brutally fun and painfully addictive.

Twin-stick blasting goes online with this excellent and highly addictive title. If you can stomach the large amount of time required to unlock the best weapons, you'll find a long-lasting challenge awaits.

Deadlock: Online borrows heavily from old-school competitive shooters but offers a fresh perspective, literally. With additional content being added soon, this one should have long legs.

The biggest problem, though, is the annoying lag that infests the entire App, even the menus. We'll attempt to visit the Armory and have to wait several moments till the game catches up, and this happens offline, which makes it even worse.

Essentially you have a decent premise at the core of Deadlock- a top-down shooter where you earn player upgrades and new weapons (which can be outfitted with attachments) to dominate the battlespace. Unfortunately, earning these items by playing requires hours and hours and hours of gameplay and grinding to attain even basic weapons or upgrades. Paying for these weapons and upgrades through in-app purchases is instantaneous. This would not be game-breaking if the gameplay required some sort of strategy or skill- unfortunately it does not. Yes, you can hide behind cover and slide out to spray down enemies then retreat again- but the basic weapons will not damage fully upgraded players enough to kill them in these short bursts and they will simply just regenerate their health- or steam full ahead at you absorbing your miniscule attempts to kill them and simply lay waste to you. There are far better ways for you to spend your money- avoid this game, it is worth none of your time or effort. Expand
