Way too laggy in general. Not talkin' about online, I mean offline. It's pretty decent solo, but when multiple local players start playin' too, the Switch acts like it's constipated and can't handle the low-grade game. There've been too many times where I'd run into stuff that hasn't loaded yet or the game would crash after a frozen screen. I'm not surprised though. The Switch is just a tablet with sticks, not a console like every sardine likes to call it.
This version of minecraft shouldnt have been released. The game often crashes, the land in front of me doesnt load and i walk into nothingness, splitscreen multiplayer barely functions when you change a moderate amount of blocks in the world.
Anyone involved in this project at Mojang should be let go. This is a game made for low-end computers in the early 2010's! How these developers couldnt adapt it to the modern switch, and then still released it when they saw it didnt work is baffling.
Notch did more alone than Mojang did in 10 years. Please Mojang, hire a third party company to help you with this port. You clearly can't handle it.
I love Minecraft, but the Switch Edition is the WORST version I've ever played. Its often laggy, fails to load chunks properly (Specifically loading the blocks but leaving them invisible for long periods of time), mobs frequently get stuck in place for no reason, and it sometimes soft-locks when you enter menus such as your inventory by freezing the screen, forcing you to reset the game. All of that is just from what I've experienced in the the offline single player mode. I can barely even play local multiplayer with one person because all of the problems I mentioned earlier are FAR worse. The glitches in the local multiplayer are outrageous compared to the single player. Even if you manage to somehow tolerate the multiplayer glitches, it inevitably crashes after around 5 minutes.
I thought it might just be my copy of the game that was the problem, but I've tried different copies of both digital and physical versions and they were all are the same. Somehow the Wii U version and Pocket Edition are both FAR more stable and playable than the Switch version.
TLDR: Buy literally any other version of this game instead of the Switch version because its insanely glitchy
Sry but the Switch can't handle Minecraft. It's buggy and the performance is very bad. When I went to the nether it loaded for like 1 minute and Amat the end I died because the mobs can hurt me in the loading screen.
Invalid session ID will make you clear your save data and reinstall your application if you ever want to play with anyone else. This bug killed this game for my child who is now so upset he is crying. If I had the big bucks I would sue mojang for ever releasing this bug onto the world in the name of DRM. Performance issues plague it, and marketplace is glitched 90% of the time, but invalid session ID makes the game unplayable and it happens every time. EVERY TIME.
