Breaking the mould of film conversion failures, this is a great game and (niggling flaws aside) is fun to play.
  2. A solid platformer that only has some minor flaws. The sound was probably the weakest area, but it definitely isn't crucial for this game. It just would've been the icing on the cake.
  3. It's not complicated or sexy, and, in fact, the N64 game isn't all that attractive or well designed. But it is possible to have fun with it. If you are a fan of the Pixar films, the game struggles to deliver the same experience in video-game format - largely due to the missing fmv cutscenes.

While Toy Story 2 admittedly boasts intuitive controls and tried-and-true platformer mechanics (that work), the Nintendo 64 version of the game is hampered by a poor framerate, washed out visuals and a decidedly blurry look when compared to its PlayStation counterpart. It's not difficult to ascertain that developer Traveller's Tales isn't focused on Nintendo 64 software -- only porting it as fast as possible.
  5. Even the most fanatic of Toy Story fans will see straight through this game... the unoriginality and outdated-ness coupled with the poor graphics and weak framerate send this straight to the bargain bins. If you want to follow the exploits of Buzz Lightyear, go watch the movie and leave this one at the toy store.

I hidden gem in the N64 library. The best of what I call the Big Disney 3 (Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, and Tarzan). Being able to exploreI hidden gem in the N64 library. The best of what I call the Big Disney 3 (Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, and Tarzan). Being able to explore Andy's house, his neighborhood, the city, and Al's Toy Barn is really amazing. My only problem is that in order to make it past most levels, you have to backtrack to past levels to unlock the appropriate item needed to get to some tokens. Other than that, it's an amazing adventure that's worth experiencing. Expand

But that's not necessarily a bad thing. There are about 11 levels with 4 or 5 bosses. These levels are very in detailed and have many boss, jumping, and collecting challenges. Although, the camera does get in the way a lot, and the game isn't a masterpiece. If you enjoy Toy Story, or you just want a fun game to play casually, you will like this game. Expand

It can be glitchy at times, the controls kind of suck, and the game isn't the best graphically. However, I found the gameplay enjoyable after playing for a little bit. Never could seem to find that last Pizza Planet token though....

    BTW
The PS version is so much better.

A typically bland 3D platformer cashing in on a popular movie license. Technically sound but soulless and uninspiring.
