  • Summary: Blue Reflection takes place at Hoshinomiya Girls' High School, where players assume the role of student Hinako Shirai. When Hinako's ballet career comes to an end after a tragic accident, she closes her heart off from the rest of the world. However, her life changes when she meets her new best friends, the magical Shijou twins -- Yuzu, who is adored by her classmates for her cheerful and warm personality, and Lime, who is more logical and selfish.

    The twin sisters bestow Hinako with the power of a Reflector, a champion who can manipulate a mysterious parallel dimension known as The Common. Hinako can freely move and shape this mystical realm's beauty with her imagination, but she soon understands the very real perils that await her and her friends. As Hinako learns to treasure her companions and creates new bonds with those around her, she gains new strength to help her fight in The Common.

    FEATURES:

    Study, Play, Fight: Blue Reflection takes place at a vibrant all-girls school, Hoshinomiya Girls' High School, where players will experience the everyday school life and hang out with their friends. As players meet emotionally unbalanced characters, a gap to The Common opens, a mysterious parallel dimension filled with demonic inhabitants, allowing them to solve the problems between the dimensions.

    Reflect Pure Emotions: In The Common, Hinako and her friends transform into Reflectors, allowing them to move freely and fight the demonic creatures that live within this realm. Through gathering emotional fragments and the emotional energy, known as Ether, the Reflectors are able to perform incredible abilities.

    Get your own Free Space!: Staying in touch with friends can always be tough, but using the 'Free Space!' social network allows easy communication, and exciting mini-games, in and out of school.

    Make the most of your free time: After classes have ended players can partake in after-class activities, explore The Common or explore a variety of exciting places in town. Your actions affect what events will take place the next day!    … Expand

    Blue Reflection is an excellent release in both design and execution. The title, and what it means, run along the story and plays a prominent role in nearly every aspect. Not unlike the Persona series, this is not an RPG where your main focus is nonstop battle. Unlike that series, however, there aren’t deadlines about which you must worry. For a JRPG that balances its combat with school life and befriending classmates, while providing a relaxing time, look no further.

    Despite these qualms, those who are fans of Gust’s library will love what Blue Reflection offers. It's clear the developers had a lot of fun experimenting with this game, and one can hope this inventiveness will extend to their future catalog.

    Blue Reflection feels like a Gust game. That is, it looks and sounds beautiful at times, but ultimately falls flat elsewhere. While certainly easy on the eyes, it cuts every corner it can in what feels like a purposeful attempt to emit mediocrity. There’s some good in here, but the rest feels hastily put together.

    Blue Reflection is one of the few times where I would say that it would work better as an anime rather than a game. It has a lot of good ideas and systems at work but sadly none of them are fully developed and poor performance ruins the experience.

    Blue Reflection is the most heart I've seen from a video game. It's gorgeous in every way a video game can be and deeply personally impacted me. The combat was engaging and fun, the characters were a joy to meet and grow with, the world was awe-inspiring to explore, and the OST melted my heart while I listened. If it at all looks interesting to you (if you're a fan of slice-of-life anime, Sailor Moon, emotional experiences in games, turn-based JRPGS, etc.), I strongly recommend giving it a try. This game doesn't deserve to fall on deaf ears for no reason other than because no one was willing to listen.

    I can safely say after playing it to 100% completion that its solidified itself as not only a great JRPG and not only as a deeply emotional experience, but also as a close contender for my favorite video game and a modern masterpiece.    … Expand

    I never thought I would like a game like this, but the music enticing visuals and beautiful art really drew me in..Unlike similar jrpg ,I never thought I would like a game like this, but the music enticing visuals and beautiful art really drew me in..Unlike similar jrpg , social sims Blue Reflections is paced really well..There isn't 2 hrs of reading or cut scenes to 15 mind of game play, interactions are meaningful and brief. There also clear and present tactics in the combat, so you will do more than press attack in a menu 1000 times to win.… Expand

    PC optimization are horrible, the few cutscenes game have are pixelated. I only made it work at somewhat stable 30-35 fps with it's graphics and spend some time in Nvidia app to make it work a little better. I completed Yakuza Like a Dragon with stable 40 fps, and it's a 2020 game... I love GUST, but shame on you with your POOR PC ports. I hope you learned something to come up with decent performance now, due to BR 2 release soon.… Expand
