A quintessential experience for point and click adventure lovers. Deponia is an old school game with brilliant humor and smart puzzles, that anyone should try.
What an excellent game!!!!!
-Want funny dialogs? check
-Want nice puzzles? check
-Want lovable main char? check
If you like adventure games, i totally suggest you buy it. I had an amazing time playing this game and i have felt like the old days when playing day of the tentacles, dig or full throttle. I really hope Daedalic Entertainment release more titles like this one....
A must play for P&C adventure fans!
Truly a unique experience that has aged well. Great characters and voice acting and world is very imaginative and varying. Many very innovative unique and well thought out of the box puzzles and the game gives you fair hints constantly to direct you. Lots of dialogue even in places where most devs wouldn't put any these guys didn't take the easy route out but did this game properly and thoroughly.
The comedy might sometimes be a bit too edgy and offend some people, even for me in a few occasions I thought it was really bad taste but overall 99% still very good.
Only complaints from my end are that the puzzles were at a few occasions insanely hard which require you to do the same thing over and over again in a few instances which I don't feel is fair ending up in a bizarre unexpected result. In some instances requires you to position yourself correctly to expect certain results one of which was brilliant but the other was clearly in the moon logic territory.. When you truly feel your getting stuck and have evaluated everything to the best of your abilities and the in game guide doesn't help just stop torturing yourself and take a quick peak at a walkthrough to get you going again, but I'd say a video guide is better as often things have to be done in a certain order so using a text guide you might easily spoil some other puzzles for yourself if your looking in the wrong place.
Only personally had to use a guide a few times which wasn't too bad considering this game is a long trilogy full of puzzles. Patience, taking brakes and using different approaches is the key here!
Experienced small bugs here and there which got me stuck, might wanna save often or you might lose some progress.
the hint system, in this game was little help.
This is a relatively new point and click Adventure game. it made to be 2d, like the classic ones from the 90's, but with newer 2D graphics.
The story is spread on 3 games, witch the all thing is about 12 chapters (like 3-4 chapters in a game), some chapters are very short, and some are very very long.
I love the concept of a point and click game, but this one was just too damn long, (and I did it with the developer commentary, which was even longer).
of course I used help with walkthrough . the hint system, in this game was little help.
if the chapters were smaller or the game was smaller, I would love it more. most of the jokes were not that funny, (as expected), and even the one that did, i was too tired from the game to really enjoy it.
after finish the game, in the videos section, I saw a extra video, it was nice. but it show another extra video, which I don't have access to. too bad.
I would recommend this game only to people that are really into Point and Click games, and only them.
It's a point and click game. Not much to explain. There are some cleaver structures here and there to brake the monotony and it genuinely manages to feel rewarding at times when you see everything come together. The writing however is quite annoying. There are way too many "comedy" rambles that go on for way too long and overall the main character stays obnoxiously insufferable throughout the whole thing.
Whilst I enjoy the overall actions and dialogues in the game the player guidance is terrible, you have to find some very specific things to progress the story, with out a proper hint and thus the game becomes rather tedious after some time.
Graphics and audio were done right, but the main protagonist is very annoying and the riddles are as counter-intuitive as they could be which makes playing this game a mess. Steam version is also full of bugs and problems, overall I cannot recommend this game if you want intuitive riddles and a bearable main protagonist.
SummaryJunk, junk and even more junk. Life on the trash-planet Deponia is anything but a walk in the park. No surprise that Rufus had enough of that and hatches one ludicrous plan after the other to escape this bleak place.
