Mar 14, 2019Dropping the puzzles in favor of a more streamlined, combat focused experience is another good change, and really helps the game have more of a laser focus. With plenty of content to keep you busy, as well as both free and paid DLC in the works, Devil May Cry 5 is well worth your time, and hard earned dollars.
-
Mar 6, 2019DMC5 is a lot like Dante himself: older, grizzled, more experienced, yet still unapologetically juvenile in the best possible way. It’s bloody, spectacular and irresistible, all cheesy one-liners, guns, swords and explosions while guitars scream in the background, and it plays like a dream. Director Hideaki Itsuno and his team have delivered: Devil May Cry is back.
-
Mar 6, 2019Devil May Cry V is the best entry in the series and one of the best character action games ever released. In addition to its excellent combat mechanics and level design, which expand greatly on the elements introduced in past games, the story and characters had never before received such focus in Devil May Cry. The game may be lacking in extra content such as the fan-favorite Bloody Palace mode at launch, but don't let this small flaw prevent you from getting what will surely be one of the 2019 Game of the Year contenders.
-
Mar 6, 2019Devil May Cry 5 is an epic return to a true form of this franchise and the one that fans have been waiting for. Varied gameplay from all three characters will keep you on the edge of your seat and your controller in your palms. Linearity and the somewhat underwhelming OST aren't issues for the overall greatness of this game.
-
Mar 11, 2019Devil May Cry 5 is yet another exquisite game from Capcom. True to its roots, but also with attractive innovations, surprisingly gorgeous and fun, it is probably the ideal sequel to a classic action series.
-
Mar 7, 2019Devil May Cry 5 is one big spectacle with addictive and profound action-gameplay, combined with some heavy-metal intensity, gothic-anime drama and a sexy rock 'n roll appeal. Devil May Cry 5 is Capcom at its best.
-
Mar 6, 2019Devil May Cry 5 is one of the best entry in the series and fully represents Capcom renaissance. Three characters with three different combat systems are enough to satisfy every fan of stylish action.
-
Apr 27, 2019The culmination of the franchise and so much more. Capcom is still putting up the pressure one notch above, with new mechanics, a renewed gameplay, and a replayability that will make you start the game a second time without losing your smile. The story has matured and a good balance has been found with its three destinies that intersect over the course of the missions, until its apocalyptic final. Only big downside in a game that requires precision in its highest difficulty levels: the camera problems and the targeting system.
-
Mar 6, 2019DMC is finally back, and it’s here to teach all of us a lesson about how to make an excellent action game.
-
Mar 6, 2019Like Asura’s Wrath, like Revengeance, Devil May Cry 5 is a game that delights in setting the bar high up front and then continually one-upping itself until, 10 hours later, you can finally catch your breath.
-
Mar 6, 2019Without being perfect, especially with respect to the camera handling and lock system, Devil May Cry 5 is an amazing action game with strong playable characters and a great sense of challenge and polish.
-
Mar 6, 2019Even though this is certainly one of the games that won't let you leave the station until you finish it, what really makes Devil May Cry 5 great is how it captures all the elements that fans enjoyed in the previous games, makes them better, and removes the rest. As for those who haven't played any of the other titles, Devil May Cry 5 should be the reason to rectify the error. It took CAPCOM quite a long time, but at least they got it right, Devil May Cry 5 is a masterpiece.
-
Mar 6, 2019Three great characters and a beautiful, fluid combat system make this a must-buy for hack-and-slash fans.
-
Mar 6, 2019An amazing entry in the series that incarnates everything that made the Devil May Cry series amazing. It's still not perfect, and even with its extreme replayability some more content would have been appreciated, but any action game fan will go crazy for this gem.

Game World Navigator MagazineMar 20, 2019DMC 5 takes the best from previous titles, like over the top action and nuanced battle system, adds a great new character and makes the best use of modern technologies. [Issue#236, p.20]
-
Mar 6, 2019Devil May Cry 5 is a stellar return to form for the series, capitalizing on all the elements that make it great. Charismatic characters and stylish, over-the-top fighting mix together into an experience that keeps you hooked to your seat for the initial 15+ hours, and possibly more as you delve into higher difficulties. With very little beating around the bush, and a combat system that’s easy enough to grasp but takes a while to master, the title successfully pushes you to learn its combos, while providing an awesome power trip. Gorgeous and intense, Devil May Cry 5 is an unbridled serving of the purest form of action that few other titles pull off quite as well.
-
Apr 20, 2019Bland location design aside, Devil May Cry 5 is excellent in all other aspects. Deep combat system, charismatic characters, nice graphics, vibrant soundtrack — this is one hell of a crazy-ass meaty slasher.
-
Mar 7, 2019With Devil May Cry 5 Capcom delivers an action spectacle on a high level, but lacks the ingenuity which characterized the games of Ninja Theory at some points. The disadvantage of the regular change of habits has been cleverly ironed out by the auto-assist-option. In the story, however, it would have been possible to get a lot more out of the three characters. Even though the story isn't the most important feature of an action grenade like DMC 5. Fights, effects, soundtrack, all this ensure that you really felt a lot of joy in knocking the demons out.
-
Mar 7, 2019We're happy to say that Devil May Cry 5 is an exceptional slasher. The combat system is great, the opponents look cool, the storyline is the best in the series, and the graphics solid, though quite often inconsistent. The veterans should be aware, however, that the game offers proper challenge only on higher difficulty levels, which are locked at the beginning.
-
Mar 6, 2019Few games are as endearing in their madness as Devil May Cry 5. It’s deeply old-school and made for fans first, but its new character will entertain newcomers and keep them coming back for more.
-
Mar 6, 2019Devil May Cry 5 might not be the best entry in the series, but it's a good time with great gameplay, in spite of the middling story and bland art direction.

Mar 6, 2019It doesn’t hurt that it’s also weird, full of surprises, stupendously daft and often laugh out-loud funny – though not always for the intended reasons.
