    Everything is absolutely fantastic, and while in-game performance isn't perfect, it's hardly enough of a downside to affect my view of the game overall. Avalanche has truly brought the thunder.

    Just Cause 4 is the perfect example of what Just Cause is. The action is over-the-top and amazing, but the story is really thin and missions get repetitive. If you love the explosive gameplay however, you are set for a perfect vacation.

    The franchise essence is still there and responsible for a lot of over the top explosive action that you love or hate about the series. But the enormous hardware requirements of the Apex engine make this a tough cookie to chew on - even more so on consoles.

    It’s very much a make-your-own-fun kind of game. If you go the staid route of dishing out gun-ishment, it’s a lovely looking but rather empty third-person shooter. If you go the batshit insane route of tying everything to everything and adding rocket boosters, it’s a ballet of hilarious carnage that will likely result in your accidental death dozens of times. It’s just a dance that’s only changed a few steps from the last time.

    While Just Cause 4 still offers a very good sandbox, and instant fun with non-stop action, the game suffers from poor visuals, awful cinematics and one of the dullest narrative we've ever seen.

    If you honestly loved Just Cause 3 and want to carry on the war that game started, along with balloons to send cows into the stratosphere, you’ll mostly be happy with the sequel. For the rest of us, it’s never as good or insane as it needs to be, and every part of the excitement is tinged with frustration.

    A really fun game that just doesn't work properly right now due to frequent crashing and other technical issues. It will be worth a purchase eventually, assuming that the developers will keep working on it.

    This game is honestly a lot of fun everything a just cause game should be, explosions chaos and a lot of fun!

    I started playing the Reloaded edition of this game because it was released as part of my Game Pass subscription. The fun factor is MASSIVE,I started playing the Reloaded edition of this game because it was released as part of my Game Pass subscription. The fun factor is MASSIVE, the graphics are decent at maximum settings, the PC port is poor.

    PROS:
    + South American Tom Cruise simulator!
    + Endless fun with the Grappling Hook that ties any two objects together
    + You can tie an enemy to a fuel tank, retract the connection with high force, and watch the enemy die in a blaze of fire
    + Constant ground and aerial skirmishes are happening between the friendly and enemy faction, which you can take part or simply observe
    + Traverse the beautiful landscape by hitching a ride on the roof of a car, or flying over the mountains in your wingsuit
    + You're almost always airborne in your wingsuit
    + Very hectic action combat; it's not unusual to be attacked by over a dozen enemies at the same time
    + The tools at your disposal and the huge number of explosions really do make you feel like a South American Tom Cruise
    + GTA-like talk radio station

    CONS:
    - PC control scheme seems like it was done by an intern who had never turned on a computer in his life. You WILL struggle to navigate the menus.
    - Some menus appear offscreen on an ultrawide monitor, and therefore cannot be clicked unless you change resolution
    - Cutscenes are rendered at low-resolution
    - Enemy soldiers have no sense of self-preservation and will pellet your armored tank with their machine gun while standing in the middle of the road
    - Easy if you play smart. The game clearly wants you to be deep in the center of action and explosions

    I have not experienced any crashes or glaring graphical issues such as pop-in, though I am playing the Reloaded version of this game on a newly built gaming PC in November 2021. I do wish the PC controls for the menus weren't completely nonsensical, and I wish the AI at least TRIED to stay alive. But the game does make up for these shortcomings with a huge amount of sheer fun factor.

    Not worth full price. But definitely worth getting it for cheap or on Game Pass.    … Expand

Mods make the game interesting where it previously wasn’t, typically caused by limitations made by the game itself. Thing like limited ammo or limited vehicles put a stopper on the game’s potential fun, most of which comes from crazy destruction-based gameplay, with explosions everywhere, and doing fun stuff with vehicles. Just Cause’s gameplay has always been centered around this type of gameplay, and mods have kept the game afloat just as long. The story isn’t necessarily the most interesting, and most of the fun comes from messing around the map instead of doing actual story missions. A few new additions like balloons can make combat better, but it feels pretty similar to the previous game, Just Cause 3. The story feels somewhat formulaic as well, with another dictator to fight and more rebels to lead. While the game can be boring at times, the players’ imagination(and mostly mods) help make the game more playable.… Expand
