JYDGE is a lawful but awful roguehate top-down shooter where you get to build your own cybernetic JYDGE and eradicate crime in the never-sleeping megacity of Edenbyrg. Create your own play-style by augmenting your JYDGE, modifying your Gavel rifle, and choosing companion drones to suit the tasks at hand.

Will you be stealthy and lurk in shadows? Or will you assault the evildoers head on? Maybe you'll brutally rocket them to bits from a distance? Or perhaps bring your own squad of reckless companions to solve the scenarios?

    You be the JYDGE!

From top to bottom, JYDGE is a heck of a run-and-gunner. It takes a minimalistic approach to story to give players the simple charm of the futuristic law enforcer that reminds of good ‘80s and ‘90s movies of the sort. Then it melds that environment with a slick combat system that keeps on giving and taking until your jydge is a cavalcade of murderous tools with which to deal out deadly justice, and for which every player will find their own preference. Moreover, levels are relatively bite sized experiences, so it’s an easy game to pick up, play for a bit, and then back out as you see fit. JYDGE is deceptively simple, but its brutal brand of law enforcement has a surprising amount of depth to offer.

JYDGE is a well polished title that will keep you coming back for more and more, whether it's the soundtrack or the multiple ways to approach a situation this is a game that demands you give it the justice it deserves. With non stop action and seemingly never ending progression JYDGE stands out from its fellow twin stick shooters making it a must have for fans of the genre.

If you can get over the forced replaying of the same levels, then Jydge is an excellent twin-stick shooter. The gunplay and level design are well done, with some real enemy challenge to accompany your ability to destroy a good number of things in sight. The variety in your level approach is a good hook, the presentation is nice, and the tools are all enjoyable to use. Genre fans will enjoy giving this one a spin.

I would recommend JYDGE (and Neon Chrome) to anyone that wants a good, small twin-stick shooter experience.

A shooter full of action and bullets with a very simple premise: to complete a few objectives in order to unlock new levels. It adds also some personalization in order to make it a little different.

JYDGE is an interesting title that keeps things simple. Many elements that might be expected of shooters nowadays (large maps, amazing graphics, gun and character selection options) are missing, but it's much preferred to them being bolted on needlessly. It requires the thought process of figuring the perfect strategy, whilst simultaneously allowing players to run and shoot at anything that moves. Death is also common, but is that really such a bad thing? JYDGE knows what it wants to be, and it delivers it well.

Add sick weapons, specials, and mods, and the ability to play couch co-op to boot, and you've got the best game I've played from 10tons so far. Expand

    Pros:
+knockoff Judge Dredd, great setting for a top-down shooter
+fun RPG elements to customize your judge
+surprisingly good level design for a short, mission-based game
+likewise a surprising level of detail and polish, visually and thematically
    Cons:
-the UI, despite being visually polished, is counter-intuitive to navigate while switching mods/weapons and is a source of frustration
-the stealth mechanics are not up to par on the higher mission difficulties, you can have a mod that makes you invisible in the dark, but there will be random patches where you're visible that can't be visually distinguished
-other mechanics are similar in this way, for example you can get a weapon mod that makes you invincible while reloading, but enemies know you're invincible and stop firing which actually creates more difficulty because you think they cannot see you, and you're no longer getting visual feedback for where their bullets are
-the mission design in general is flawed because the three objectives for each mission can't easily, or sometimes at all, be completed at the same time, which begs the question why are they grouped together arbitrarily?
-at the very end of the game, once you've gotten enough medals to unlock all the weapons, there's very little incentive left to keep playing and finding secrets, because all the medals left will probably involve objectives that you've been avoiding up until that point
