Kerbal Space Program isn't just a fantastic space game. It's one of those games that makes you glad you play on PC, because it could only come to exist on PC.

You don't often get the sense of achievement and exploration Kerbal Space Program offers for its price-tag. After you manage to get around the learning curve you'll find an immensely educational and fun game. You can't truly call yourself a space enthusiast and miss out on that one. After all, how hard can rocket science be?

An inspired mix of real science, sandbox gameplay, and space simulation – that is both a lot more entertaining and a lot more accessible than you’d expect.

The game's not perfect, it has a few WTH level bugs in the 1.0 release, and while the simulation is far more accurate than you'd expect from a game, there are some corners that got cut, such as life support, in the interest of keeping the game fun for more normal people.

It doesn't require a lot of math or science to start, but you will learn orbital mechanics and such along the way. If you've ever had any interest in planning or flying semi-realistic space missions, you should try this game. I'm among those that have played this game for thousands of hours, and I can still find interesting things to do. On the other hand, it doesn't have a campaign, even in career mode you don't get goals forced on you other than "don't go broke."

This is one of the best games ever made.
    Huge pros in my book:
    - Challenging: This game is as hard as Dark Souls in it's own way. When you first start out you will probably die. Alot. Because you don't know anything about rocket science - and that's ok, you'll learn.
    - Educational: You can't just level up and suddenly be able to insert a spacecraft into keosynchronous orbit, you have to actually learn how to do that. And you'll have to learn what keosynchronous means. You will learn a lot that you could actually apply in the real world. For instance, if someone gave me a proposal for sending a small craft to our moon, (with a little digging) I could probably tell you if the plan would work or not. Thanks Kerbals, for your sacrifice!
    - Actual exploration: There are planets out there! What do they look like? What is it like to be on the surface? I remember the first time landing on a moon and really feeling the thrill of what that must feel like.
    - Replay: I keep going back to this game over and over, there's so much to do.

This game won't be for everyone (some people suck), but if you like games that I like then I highly recommend it: nethack, minecraft, dark souls, ur quan masters/starcon, etc.

When I got the game in 2012, The first thing I did was to crash my rocket into the ground (Not intentionally), later of course was to get a rocket to land into the mun, it took me 1 week trying to not crash into the mun, Later I didn't know what to do, and I would quit playing, but later an idea came into my head that I would love to try it out, and most of the time it didn't work, but that didn't stop me cause I just knew it could be done. And I kept playing until new updates came and I saw how the game changed and just new ideas came into my head. I must have spent at least 1000 hours in this game just doing stuff that I knew it could work, when you see this potential of time you realize this game its really what I would call a sandbox, doing things because you want. I can't say that this game is perfect I used to play with mods, BTW the community is awesome, speaking of science in the forums is quite nice, I also got to say that I love science, that's why I am studying a career related with it. Going back to the game the Kerbals are Hilarious, the science mechanics and career mode are quite nice, even tough it could be better, and just because its released doesn't mean it can't have updates, the team is committed into make a nice game. Finally I don't think all people will agree in my position, its not a game for everybody, its quite unique, and because of that I give it a nice score, just because its a really original game that people from all ages like. Hopefully people get inspired from this indie game that deserves a place. Expand

AlthoughIts a very fun game where you can make just about anything that has wings or engines and put it anywhere in an entire solar system. Although at times it can get boring, but considering this game has a massive mod base that problem is fairly easy to fix. Do keep in mind though if you don't like simulators or games like them this wont be the game for you. But if you like space sims , flight sims, or even just designing Air/space craft then you will certainly like this game. Expand

I would simply push anyone questioning this game to give it a try. It's not for everyone, but I've never met a person who dislikes it.
