KSP's sandbox gets bigger by focusing on what makes it a great PC game: flexibility, freedom, and random explosions.

Kerbal Space Program: Making History Expansion is a decent first expansion to the fantastic and expansive game. Offering something for everyone, the DLC provides a set of interesting, but not totally satisfying missions, some new items for the whole of the game, and a mission builder that could become a huge focus of the community going forward.

This expansion may not appeal to everyone right out of the gate. While there may be a little something for everyone, your personal preference to building missions might sway whether you feel it’s worth the price tag. What’s there is very good, but only if that’s what you are interested in.

Making History expands vanilla Kerbal Space Program to a point in which you’ll be receiving your time’s worth. As to the underlying quality of the title, even though the baked-in missions are inspiring and well-designed, how the fanbase for Kerbal eventually uses the mission creator will be the deciding factor.

If you are indeed a Kerbalist, you will definitely spend more hours with you favorite space travelling critters. The mission editor is powerful, while the included missions are challenging. Nonetheless this expansion is a bit superficial and still omits interstellar exploration or colony management.

Making History certainly adds more to Kerbal Space Program, and those who've already poured hundreds of hours into the game may be grateful for the tiny cache of new supplies it introduces. But in this particular space race, players have already been to the Moon (sorry, Mun) and back long before developer Squad unveiled its new rockets.

Making History makes Kerbal Space Program fun, but they are not a necessary addition to the game. We do really love the mission designer, which is an amazing tool that is worth sharing.

This doesn't improve Kerbal Space Program as a game. It's just a pack of new parts and rocket textures, none of which I needed. The missionThis doesn't improve Kerbal Space Program as a game. It's just a pack of new parts and rocket textures, none of which I needed. The mission builder is a minority interest at best and is just another attempt by Take Two Interactive to get the community to do their job for them, and you'll get more interesting and challenging missions from Reddit than the new scenarios. Given that KSP was basically an indie tech demo of Squad's remarkable orbital physics/vehicle simulation and not actually a full-featured game unless you added third-party mods, it is super lame of the new owners to be milking it with DLC already.
