New World is a pretty damn good MMORPG. It's fun and accessible, and though it doesn't do anything truly new, it has enough little twists on existing ideas to keep me invested.
While New World isn’t a World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV killer, it does prove that a new MMO can succeed. We’ll have to wait to see how they capitalize on their momentum.
It is a great game that no one who likes survival and exploration of worlds should miss, those who score negative are the typical mmo pvp players, they believe that all mmo should be full pvp and only for them, that no one else can play them , the new world is an exception, it's a game that gives the solo player a chance to make friends within the game to achieve their goals, it's a real mmo, it lacks fixes but it's only been online for almost 2 years, there's another mmo that has been online for more than 5 years and still has bugs, if you want a new world to explore, a new world is your world and the best thing is that you choose the step in which you advance, it can be a healer one day and another DPS the next day, just changing the weapons, attributes and that's it.
you don't depend on wasting time to level up another pj, you just level up 1, time is valuable enough to waste it leveling up 2, 4, 6, 10, different pj to be able to play with other weapons or classes.
New World is a great theme park at its inauguration. Not all attractions are ready, some work well but need to be run in and others are still in the planning stage. There is absolutely no doubt that the foundations for something great are all there, benefiting from a colossal budget and substantially infinite resources, but it is equally true that what we now have in our hands is an introduction and nothing more.
The crowd who’ll be left out in the cold with New World are those looking for a rich narrative adventure akin to your typical MMO. That’s not really here right now, and it's unclear what plans Amazon has in store for it. Maybe in the future, with ongoing updates, New World can evolve into something truly special.
New World is one of the most beginner-friendly MMOs available, but its lacking quests and PvE makes me worried about the future. The PvP, however, is a blast.
As it stands a little over a month after launch, New World offers a solid PvP-focused, player-driven MMORPG experience that has long been missing from the genre, albeit one seriously held back by outdated quest design and a lack of interesting endgame content. Whether that changes in the months ahead remains to be seen, but for now, New World will likely only appeal to those who crave PvP and wish to paint the map of Aeternum the color of their chosen faction, repetitive questing and lack of content be damned.
A stellar crafting experience and surprisingly slick combat aren’t enough to compensate for the flaws in New World’s humdrum and frustrating quest design.
This a shallow comparison but this game for me is the anti-thesis of SWTOR.
Really fun combat paired up with a really boring story and dull activities.
There is much to do in the New World but not much of it is really that interesting.
it was ok for me, it had fun parts and not so fun parts, gearing was painfull, housing not so good but i was realy interested in, pvp a disaster
PvE content was fun, except from the gearing part and professions were fun aswell.
I paid for the game and the add-on and played it for 400 hours. To be honest, I didn't expect how unpleasant she would turn out to be in the end.1) Dungeons are just boring2) farm resources - they spawn according to the script and there are bots or people who farm them and sell them for real money, is it fun? no3) pvp and its balance, how many edits and balances, don't you have people with mathematical education there? how many YEARS has the game been that you can't balance 15 types of weapons and 3 types of armor, who works there at all? In general, it's just a laugh.4) boring gvg and even open world pvp here, the action game itself is pleasant and rather strive for the ideal, but the nuances of balance and equipment simply destroy the whole fan from this, you just won't understand why you don't do damage AT ALL.5) a miserable farm of chests that just stand in one place and you confuse them once every 12 hours, grind for grind's sake.6) the lack of content as such, the whole game can be closed in 50-70 hours, it's just a **** conclusion, I want to say that if you go to the fan with a group of friends for 100+ hours, then you will get pleasure, but the way the game works now with all the new edits (and before that) It's just a shame. Such a large company cannot find 1-2 people with mathematical education who can calculate the elementary balance.Considering all this, the game deserves 4 points out of 10
This game could have been good, but it just didn't make it. It was fun at first, until you started to see through the veil. It feels like an unfinished cash grab, very repetitive endgame, not very innovative for a new MMO. It's sad as it had such a cool concept.
