A true game, with a base gameplay that gets more and more complex as we play, with subtle touches and ruleset changes. But it's so much more as well : a deep dive in a terrifying dystopia, brilliantly crafted, that will put your life into perspective and awaken your political consciousness with both violence and humor.

Evil is performed by men in suits, golden pens in their chest pockets, and stamps in their hands. With a single move with their wrists, they sign death warrants, never seeing the consequences of their actions, maybe not even caring about them.

Papers, Please manages to make the apparently boring profession of border guard incredibly engaging and thrilling. Music, graphics and writing all contribute to an oppressive atmosphere that pulls the player in and holds them captured.

Well-paced, straight-forward game play combines with vivid storytelling to make into a fantastic game. More than a tale of bureaucratic spot the difference, Papers, Please is a game of intrigue and excitement balanced by fear for your family.

It's a tribute to the Cold War. An addictive game that's full of sarcasm and social commentary. A game that you should definitely try.

Papers, Please is anything but a standard adventure, but beneath the seemingly unappealing premise of bureaucratic drudgery and human misery lies a fascinating game of choices, surprises, and intrigue.

A novel, stylish game taking advantage of its minimal design more than you would believe, and it succeeds in arousing your emotions, which is the thing other game titles could dream of. [Issue#233]

This game is something genuinely unique and while I would have loved for get even more it was still more than I see from most any other game out there. Specifics are hard to get into but it is an interesting of blending precision with tedium. Word of warning, this is a puzzle game more than you would realize but it is one that somehow managed to make that is boring seems fun! Crazy? You bet! And yet it's true. If you're hesitant, check out Youtube or wait for a Steam sale. This is definitely something to consider when you have the time. Expand

I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, I thought it'd get boring after a while, turns out, it doesn't. So many things are added that keep it fun and exciting, and some of the smaller things are great too. This game really brings me to think about morals, when do you break the guidelines? What do you risk, letting someone with a weapon through, and being able to feed your family from a bribe, or do you be a good guy by the book and detain him? This is an amazing game, and I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I do. Expand

It'sWorking in military security myself, and having years of ID checking experience, I couldn't imagine anyone could make a "game" of it. It's boring, tedious, thankless work.
Somehow they pulled it off. What I find mind-numbing at work, I find pleasantly challenging within the game. In fact, I may even believe that the game has made me better at my job, by reminding me how easily those little details can slip by unnoticed.
If you want to test your attention to detail and get immersed into Cold War era Asia, give the game a look.

Game-play: The game-play is great it really test your skills in puzzle games with a ton of different things you have to pay attention.

Story: The story is simple but good and you can change it how ever you want according to your decisions I can not tell how much time it will take you because if you are a good player it could take many any many hours if not it could end in 1 or 2 hours but that is a reason to try to be better.

Graphics: The graphics blend in perfect with the game.

Notes: You should buy this game even if you are not very big fun of puzzle games you will love it as I did this game is just great.

Work... Seriously someone made a game that is worse that work. How this got positive reviews beats me...

It starts harmless enough, you compare a few numbers and rules and stamp it approved or denied.
Then it adds in checking for another document,
    and then another,
    and then another.
All for almost no pay, your family will get sick.

I guess if you play it a few times you will memorize the handbook which will make things go faster. But seriously people? Have we come this far that 'entertainment' is pretending to do a job that absolutely sucks and then giving it great reviews? People now-a-days have issues.
