Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a bold, dark, epic saga, featuring an astonishing replayability value. The developers have experimented with Kingmaker, and have gone all-in with Wrath of the Righteous, creating one of the best story-driven CRPGs of late.

For those who miss the feeling of a long tabletop campaign or have been craving a new isometric RPG, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the game for you. It's not perfect, but it has most of the best parts of playing a game with pen and paper while ironing out some of the fiddly and boring parts so you don't have to deal with them. Owlcat Games has taken what it learned from Kingmaker and improved upon it to give us something new and fun — no dice required.

Wrath of the Righteous is a true RPG epic, which, despite a silly quirk, surpasses its predecessor.

An enormous, ambitious, and complex RPG, that will be adored by min maxers and Pathfinder Savants. Unfortunately it retains some of its predecessor's issues, and this keeps Owlcat's new project from being a bonafide masterpiece in the genre.

Despite the negatives, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is overall an exceptional and colossal CRPG, a true spiritual successor to the original Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale titles. For those who love this type of game — the challenges, micromanagement, deep lore, and stat tracking in a fantasy RPG setting — Owlcat Games’ latest offering will more than satisfy. Gamers hoping for a less intense, less mentally demanding, more polished RPG experience would be better off looking elsewhere.

A conservative yet meaningful evolution of the classic RPG.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is not a big improvement over Kingmaker, but it is an improvement, nonetheless. Some of its elements are exceptional, like the overwhelming variety in classes, skills, and "paths," or the general epic aura it has, while some other parts sit somewhere between decent and good, like the story (which is a bit too stereotypical), the Crusade portion of the gameplay (which is a buggy chore), and the actual role-playing, which, while fine and all, won't be enough for those spoiled by other modern classics of the genre. Despite some its flaws, it is undoubtedly very entertaining, and highly recommended, as it will surely satisfy your hunger for a good RPG.

Many people spend 5-10 hours at least in the character creator itself, which demonstrates how much DEPTH this game has at its core. It's not easy, and you need to really think about the math involved, but if you are comfortable with D&D, this game will be a lot of fun for you. Expand

It delivers on all its promises and expands on Kingmaker which I already loved in every single way. The visuals are not very realistic and do not have the most fidelity you'll find on the market, especially the character models aren't very detailed, but the art style is fantastic and the particle effects are stunning. The combat is very similar to Kingmaker, so if you hated that you likely won't like this much more, if that's the case with you I would recommend using a mod for immortality and auto battling in real-time with pause. The replay value is incredible, and the world and dialogue is incredibly immersive. Your choices in the game truly matter and there are plenty of them. I found the characters to be excellent and very interesting, I truly wish I could bring along every companion on every adventure just to see their reactions to scenarios and dialogue and banter with each other. The music is absolutely splendid and definitely something I'll listen to outside of the game frequently. There are a few bugs at the moment, but I haven't encountered anything particularly annoying and Owlcat has been releasing very frequent patches so the game will likely feel very stable before long. Personally, this has already become one of my all-time favorite games and I believe it is absolutely worth it at the full price which isn't even 60$ and I would recommend just about everyone give the game a try. This is a fun game , it has two notable issues. First the main parts of this game. Story: Good. Great voice acting. Multiple endings. Romance. Lots of rpg stuff. Combat: it’s wonky. I won’t sugar coat it. It’s fun when it all works but you may be waiting another patch or 2. Overall I have more good than bad. Armies/Management: If you like managing things and old school heroes of might and magic combat. You will have fun. I do. But the main issue at moment is putting it on auto ruins some quests. Similar to recent banner patch I am sure this will be patched. Now two big flaws. One bugs. It’s got em. If you want Super high level of polish. They just did 1.02. Maybe wait until 1.1. Two people want more than the game can provide. Each choice is a branch. Eventually every branch can’t lead to another branch. Dialogue is based around alignment and theme. Pathfinder has always been around the themes of the Adventure Path. It tells GMs to make players chose things in the players guide of the Adventue path, not whatever they want. Adventures often tell people not to play evil in a good campaign or vice versa. If you think more about themes, and less about alignment you will have more fun. Go in thinking I want to be a evil Lich, kind Dragon, a vengeful Angel, whatever, and then embrace it. Each path often has two variety. Angel has Good and Lawful for example. Aeon has Lawful Good, Neutral, and Evil variety of lawful. If you try to play a good hearted Lich it will be a uphill climb. Expand

I am an rpg fan but I am disappointed with the game. If you look without thinking 200 hours ending rpg game is great. However crusade-choiceI am an rpg fan but I am disappointed with the game. If you look without thinking 200 hours ending rpg game is great. However crusade-choice effect-puzzle part act2-3-5 are trash
Except these it is still a 120 hours game but dungeons apart from 3-4 are boring ivory sanctum-prison that inheritor kept and labs are repetitive - act 5 same places bactrack
Act 4 is a good improvement. If there is no Act 4 game is really a mess. Drezen and before area well designed at Act 2 but most main quest big areas trash and puzzle multi trash
No item crafting only silly recipes 90% items for sale or useless
Rpg means crafting - different jobs - different areas. Alchemy ? repair ? Talk effects ? Bad companions why could not make more oneself ? Useless companion quests with trash companions, time management and quests but you become god in 90-100 days
Stop lying some streamers youtubers if they make this game after 10 years of Skyrim stop and say - we love these because no one makes games like these except Drezen war - before area and Act4 boring - items not important or few items are godlike important for seceet end

Easily the most bug-infested game in my >30 years of computer gaming. Owlcat scam their customers with a tedious slog, uninspired writing, 95%Easily the most bug-infested game in my >30 years of computer gaming. Owlcat scam their customers with a tedious slog, uninspired writing, 95% processor- and graphics card load and bugs in the (literally!) 1,000s. WotR was released in a pre alpha-state and has still not reached more than a beta state by January 2022. Be prepared to spend ~20% of your playtime in loading screens and looking for items in the worst inventory ever realized in a computer game. The game's balancing is beyond broken (Only super hero characters made with meta-gaming knowledge are viable; forget about role playing!) and proof of the devs' vast incompetence in game design, the idiotic crusade mode being the most obvious proof. What a disaster! Pas de points, Owlcat, zero, nada, zilch. Expand
