Squadrons is the sort of game that EA needs to make more of. Tight, focused experiences that meet a need perfectly. Any fan of space combat should be diving into this the first chance they get.

After such a long wait for a successor to X-Wing and TIE Fighter, Star Wars: Squadrons feels like a lucky shot with a proton torpedo.

Star Wars: Squadrons delivers on great dogfighting, even when its campaign doesn't live up to its full potential.

Star Wars: Squadrons is ultimately the space shooter long awaited by fans, with careful execution and always respectful of the original material ... a success, no more no less.

Star Wars: Squadrons revives some of the best space combat from older games, but its delivery stumbles with a forgettable story and condensed multiplayer variety.

The typical gamer will find Star Wars Squadrons a difficult game with a bland storyline and poor content. Others will have an opportunity to take out their joysticks and find out just how great the classic Star Wars sims were. It's good that the gaming community was reminded of the classics like X-Wings and TIE Fighers, but I'm still waiting for a true gem to come in the future.

There’s a good concept at the core of Star Wars: Squadrons, as flying a space fighter and managing its systems can be a lot of fun, however, you have to be a very dedicated Star Wars fan to enjoy a drab campaign with just a handful of memorable moments and watered-down multiplayer modes from Battlefront 2.

I have played exclusively in VR with a HOTAS and it is everything I wanted to be. Blowing up some Rebel Scum in my Tie Fighter and then zooming through their debris field is just the best feeling. Singleplayer is about as long as like a Halo game, maybe 8 hours and it is a pretty good story to be honest, and then multiplayer is honestly fun enough to keep my going for who knows how long. I have 16 hours in the game so far and the end still isn't in sight. For $40 you are definitely getting your money's worth. I feel like nothing is going to compare to this experience for a while.

Me and my friend haven't really had any technical issues other than it slowing down really bad in one multiplayer match so I can't really comment on the issues other people are having. I will say that the game seems to be well optimized since my friend has a Ryzen 3 1300 processor with a gtx 1060 3GB and he says it runs pretty smoothly for him in VR.

If someone is rating the game negatively because of "identity politics" or whatever then they are truly just looking for a reason to be offended by something. Throughout the whole game I was trying to figure out what people were talking about and other than one guy mentioning his husband one time in one sentence in the entire game, I couldn't find anything. So I guess if you are easily offended and super homophobic then stay away from this game???

Combining the spirit of the old space simulators with the canon of Star Wars, Star Wars Squadrons is very good and definitely deserves attention.

    What I was missing:
    -Third person view
    -More space aliens for customization
-More representation. Yes, Gunny and Gray turned out to be very good, but I would like to see more open representatives of minorities both in the game and in general, in the Star Wars universe. I was also hoping to see Grey's husband in the story.
-The Phoenix Squadron look does not match the Rebels animated series. I was hoping to see the blue-green camouflage of the fighters under Sato's command.

This game is really getting me into flight sim games as a whole. There's a high skill ceiling with the game and the multiplayer and single player are really fun.

I honestly don't know why there's so many overly negative reviews because this game is really great.

This game is one of my favorite games along with titanfall 2 and fallout 4

While there are legitimate criticisms with this game don't listen to the "anti-sjw" crowd because they just don't like it because the cast is diverse. Which while there are stuff you can criticize this game on, that reason of it being too sjw is just stupid. Don't listen to those reviews.

I really like this game and I hope we get a sequel that maybe has the clone wars or just more ships and maps. Plus even though it wasn't really the main goal of the game I really liked the new republic squadmates in particular.

A lot of people don't know (or care) what it is like to not see heroes like themselves in games or on TV. Had serious technical issues, I've never had with any other games. I tried PC and VR and both had issues. Have new PC 64/32 Gig Ram and VRAM, 2080, NVIDIA G-sync monitor,. The game would load go across two monitors (Wacom was one) even when one was disabled, would not center, could not used keyboard or controllers in VR. Had to get refund. Gave points for inclusiveness, but cannot recommend due to technical issues. Expand

No more white people allowed, apparently.

There's also a mentally ill character who uses the pronoun "They." Don't encourage normalization of mental illness. Do better.

This disregard for mental sanity is disgusting. Don't normalize mental illness. It's okay to be white. Don't support these mentally ill devs. Be better.
