With precious few of those quality gameplay moments and a plot that limps along in need of focus, unfortunately Force Unleashed 2 ultimately fails to live up to the interest of its broken but far more compelling predecessor.

The Force Unleased II is a good game. However, I would be hesitant to call it a good Star Wars game. The original Force Unleashed did a good job building on Star Wars' mythos in a way that was interesting but non-intrusive. It presented a simple story that featured plenty of thematic elements seen in both the original and prequel trilogy. However, the follow-up just doesn't capture the original's spirit, and that is what ultimately holds this title back from being something great.

A good sequel with superior controls, some new features, a steady pace and a lot more action compared to the first game. With its short playing time of roughly five hours it fails to create as much atmosphere as The Force Unleashed 1 though and the PC-adaption suffers from a lot of technical issues, e.g. tearing, crashes, bugs and problems during setup. The gameplay itself will satisfy both Star Wars-Fans and those who enjoyed TFU1.

It's not a bad game by a long stretch - just a game that's over in a flash and almost entirely devoid of any memorable moments.

An imperfect port of an unambitious sequel, TFU2 joins a growing list of Star Wars games that don't live up to their potential. [Jan 2011, p.72]

This Force-powered sequel is a better port than its predecessor, but it never jumps to lightspeed.

There are flashes of brilliance in this game that are simply wasted. [Jan 2010, p.58]

What I believe this game focuses on, is both the story and the graphics. While this game doesn't offer heaps of stuff to do, or a long outstretched game, it does give us a kind of cinematic feel to it. While some would argue that this is supposed to be a game, I would still l like to say that it does a great job of being a form of animation or 'interactive movie' where it is filled with amazing cutsceans, and our choices. Overall, while I don't think the price should be as high as it is; it has that amazing story feel to it, and star wars fans will be able to get a lot out of this game! Expand

This game is 4 years old now, and I believe it is time for a new review. My standards for review scores are 10 starting points, and -1 pointThis game is 4 years old now, and I believe it is time for a new review. My standards for review scores are 10 starting points, and -1 point for everything done wrong. Overall, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is, excluding the story, a great Star Wars game. Before I continue, I need to state that I am not biased towards any particular gaming company or extended universe/lore. I review the game as it should be reviewed -- as a time waster.

    Great Graphics

Lightsaber Combat and Force Powers Done Right

Many Customization Options (Including several costumes [Just for aesthetics] and many lightsaber crystals which give you different upgrades)

The game has done a good job with capturing the atmosphere of the environments, especially Kamino

    Things done wrong are below:

The Story is atrocious, no debate. And with the story being a major point of any game, an extra point is taken off. -2 points.

The player character is a mix of blandness and unoriginality, however, at times, you can feel like an indestructible god, choosing who lives and who dies which provides a fun experience. Not enough to keep a point, however, so -1 point.

Finally, Quick Time Events (QTE's) are abundant, and repetitive. -1 more point.

The final score for this game is: 6/10. While being a good Star Wars game, it still has enough flaws to put it at an average rating. In my opinion, if you haven't gotten this game yet, get it. Even though it doesn't have the highest rating, it can still be a lot of fun if you don't play a game for the story, but to waste time and have fun.

There's less dialog, plot, characters and original music than the first game. Gameplay the game is nearly identical, and the graphics are better, but the menus are ugly and low-res, evidence that the game wasn't ported to PC with any care or attention to detail. The final boss battle with Vader is a grindtastic joke. Also, the story is short. Steam clocks me in at 5 hours of gameplay. Bought it for $5 on a sale, not worth a dime more. Expand

They padded the hell out of the game time in the final boss battle so this game could reach 5 hours. It might be worth playing to see how stupid it was. No spoilers here we all know your gonna eventually have to fight Darth Vader.

Pretty much you kill a group of enemies you've fought 1000 times prior. Get a couple hits on Vader, Then it switches to the cinematic view where you have to press a button (like god of war) to hit. But instead of hitting you get a chance to talk to him. He tells you you're expendable then runs to the next floor.

You follow him, kill another group of enemies exactly the same, get a couple hits, and listen to him tell you you're expendable again! This happens 15 freaking times!

If that doesn't convince you and you still want to play this game, don't play it on pc. Way too many bugs including near game breaking ones.
