If this episode is any indication of what’s to come, this short form adventure could prove to be some of the best work that Telltale Games has put out since the amazing first season of The Walking Dead. With improvements coming through graphically, and the story telling showing strong against the quickened pace of a half season, this small package has a lot going for it. Here’s hoping that it continues.

I’m certainly engaged enough with this first chapter to see things through to the end, and I imagine you will be too. Just go in with some expectations in check, this isn’t the Telltale game that’s going to reinvent the wheel for their particular style of gameplay. But it does serve as a solid introduction to a well-known, and well-liked character from The Walking Dead, and hopefully spirals into some interesting revelations the further we proceed.

The premiere episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne has all the qualities of a stellar TellTale Games series: the combat is enjoyable, the narrative is engaging, the choice system presents difficult options, and the episode is entertaining from start to finish.

The Walking Dead: Michonne - In Too Deep is a strong opening chapter, but the overall experience doesn't stray too much from past seasons. Future episodes will prove whether Michonne has an explosive payoff or is simply an average mini-series for passing the time.

This first chapter doesn't offer anything new or really interesting in terms of narrative or gameplay. It's basically Telltale on autopilot. Not bad, but not that good either.

Bloodier, more linear, but actually exactly the same game as the last time. If you still haven´t got enough of harsh human stories from zombie apocalypses, you will enjoy The Walking Dead: Michonne, because it offers a proven Telltale quality. Otherwise there is no reason buying this one-hour game.

It's ironic that Telltale's biggest success with TWD: Michonne is in how it perfectly projects Michonne's detached mindset onto the player, albeit unintentionally. Just as Michonne is hardened and unsympathetic, you'll meet lots of new characters and learn of their troubles and motivations, but you probably won't care.

Why there's not so much games like that, which will hook you up to the story it is telling? Telltale Games, you made it really great! From the "Telltale's TWD series fanboy" side this game having all you need: good and charismatic characters with their own stories, absolutely GREAT main character, Michonne, and, for the first time, those cool psychodelic flashbacks with her daughters are absolutely creeping me out in a good way and COOLEST ACTION with machette, when I was seeing that, I was just like "Whoa, well, you got what you deserved, you walking dead motherf**kers!". The only thing I was worried about is "Why the first episode is much longer, than the other two?", but that's not so important, especially when you will really "get into" the game. And from the technical side: I was playing on Xbox 360, and this game really pushes all the limits of old good Xbox. The graphics is so smooth and great, but I will not tell it about FPS, this is the only bad thing about it if you gonna play it on past-gen: optimization. Why they preferred to bring highest graphic they can deliver on 360 instead of making it rock-solid 30, or maybe 25 frames per second? I bet they would deliver us good graphics and solid FPS at one time. Even though optimization is not very good, but this game shows us that Telltale would port TWD:NF on 360/PS3 without much problems. Anyway, this game is very cool, even if there's a lack of optimization and there's no Lee/Clementine/Kenny/whoever-you-choose-from-TWDS. Must-have even on an old generation of consoles. 9/10 Expand

It has new 'reality' elements that keep you wonder is something really there or not which is again a refreshing and also an intriguing thing aswell. The story has that like i said 'old but gold' 'unknown' thing about should you trust and are they good the people you encounter. Expand

I'm sorry, but this is a gaming that's cashing-in to the franchise.

I have nothing against Michonne, as I found her to be a intriguing character from TWD comics and tv shows. But other than the main protagonist herself, the rest of the game falls short.

First, it's not the worst game out there hence why I'm giving at least 6. The art style of the game is still great to look at, Michonne, as I've said at top, is a great character, and the gameplay is decent.

However, for every step the game takes, it takes two steps backwards. Other characters that you'll meet along the way are pretty stale to the zombie franchise. You know, the rational one, "We can't sacrifice our survival for others" one, the crazy one, and of course, the a$$hole one.

This game is not recommended even to the TWD fans

No worries, just slice them up into episodic content to make it less obvious!

Stop ripping us off!!! Poor graphics, boring characters, same story, same thing again and again..... This game is ultra linear and everything is sooo scripted. I might as well just watch the tv film. Or maybe just watch this game on Youtube because you are not really playing this game anyway. The game is playing you instead. STOP IT ALREADY! 0 value. Using the Walking Dead license to cover up for your incompetence? Well kiss my behind. Don't buy this cr@p.
