The game is about 5 hours long, which is just barely enough to justify the $29.99 price.

If you like "lol I'm so random" type humor then this game is for you. You would think the humor of Trover Saves the Universe would be similar to the humor of Rick and Morty, but it's not. It's just five hours of Roiland saying whatever random unstructured words came to his mind at that moment while

It's just five hours of Roiland saying whatever random unstructured words came to his mind at that moment while you progress through a mediocre and uncompelling story. I have no problem with curse words, but a constant stream of them doesn't count as meaningful humor. One upside is that the combat is fun and the various puzzle mechanics are interesting, but neither can save the game, as I found myself getting bored for most of the 5 hours.

Worth playing if you're a die-hard Roiland fan but otherwise I can't recommend it.

Fun game, game accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do. Basically an interactive cartoon. The movement concept / accompanying lore is pretty trippy in VR. If you like the garbage constantly spewing forth from Roiland's mind, you'll like this.

It's a VR game you play with a controller. It's basically a neutered and dumbed down game. Also, I love Rick and Morty and Justin Roiland's humor, but MY GOD this game is just annoying and isn't all that funny. Just weird characters yelling made up nouns and cussing. Graphics kinda suck and gameplay is BASIC. The game is most like that Adventure Time VR game for the Samsung Gear VR,It's a VR game you play with a controller. Justin Roiland really knows how to entertain. The Game is super fun, with similar voice-acting as in Rick & Morty this masterpiece entertains for a short 5 hours of gameplay, but its still worth the experience! Fighting isnt really that great, but the unique voice-acting from Justin Roiland really hits the nail on the head. Fighting isnt really that great, but the unique voice-acting from Justin Roiland really hits the nail on the head. Voices are pretty much the same as in Rick & Morty whilst Trover has the voice of Morty and some enemies the one from Rick. Puzzles are fun and not too hard. The atmosphere is silly whilst also fascinatingly weird and the characters you will meet on your journey are overwhelmingly funny.

    A must-play for every Rick & Morty-Fan out there!

Although gameplay for non-VR players feels like an afterthought, Trover Saves the Universe is an off-the-cuff experience with hilarious writing that ends far too soon.

As far as my advice goes, it’s simple — for those who dig Rick & Morty, this is a must-buy, even if one doesn’t own a VR headset. Those who think the show is over-hyped, unfunny nonsense should stay as far away from it as possible. The gameplay or VR implementation isn’t anything earth-shattering, but as a delivery mechanism for Justin Roiland’s humor, Trover Saves The Universe is a fantastic success.
  3. If you like Just Roiland’s works, you like Trover Saves The universe, if you don't, you don't like this game.
